With three successful events, including October’s Lotus tournament, I’m happy to announce N.Y.S.E. IV; When: Saturday, December 19th Registration will begin at 11:00 AM First round will begin promptly at 12:00 PM What: $25, 15 proxy non-sanctioned Vintage tournament. Deck registration sheets will be in use. 1st place prize of an Unlimited Time Walk is guaranteed. All other prizes are guaranteed at 34 entrants. The prize structure will be as follows: 1st: Unlimited Time Walk 2nd: English Mana Drain 3rd/4th: Revised Blue Dual 5th/8th: Force of Will 9th: Mystery Prize (It will be uniquely awful) The prize structure will be scaled up with increased attendance. I’ve had trouble locating extra Underground Seas to offer for 3rd/4th. If anyone has spare Seas, please PM me. If I can’t find Sea’s 3rd/4th will be for either a Tropical Island or Volcanic Island. The highest finishing deck without a proxy wins an English Mana Crypt. There will be a sportsmanship prize as well. I’m currently taking suggestions for that prize. Additionally a side event for a Library of Alexandria will be held after the final round of the main flight as soon as we have the 16th signup. Entry for the side event is $10 if you played in the main flight. This event will be four rounds of single elimination. Non sanctioned Zendikar drafts will be available throughout the day, beginning after the second round of the event. Where: Brothers Grim Games & Collectibles 1244 Middle Country Road Selden, N.Y. 11784 (631) 698-2805 brothersgrimgames@gmail.comStore website: http://brgrim.com/index.htmOur head judge for the event will be Long Island's own Brian Paskoff, a level 2 judge. So mark off your calendar and come out to the Island to spend a day playing Vintage with your friends. This event should be a blast. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

I guess I'll have to go to this one too. Make sure to save at least a T8 spot for me again.

Dates for November and December are exceptionally difficult. November 7th is the Brooklyn tournament, November 14th is a PTQ, November 21st is Nick Coss's Philly Open IV, November 28th is the weekend of Thanksgiving. December 5th is States and Blue Bell (from what I understand) and December 12th is a PTQ. It was December 19th or nothing until January. Sorry Jimmy.

My last day of finals is that Friday and I'm flying home straight after that, so I should finally be able to make one of these, albeit on 1-2 hours sleep.

I would really love to see the T.R.A. guys come up to the Island for the day. I missed you guys at the Lotus tournament. My last day of finals is that Friday and I'm flying home straight after that, so I should finally be able to make one of these, albeit on 1-2 hours sleep.
Josh, you're a good man. I don't know about you, but I play my best when I'm sleep deprived. It also just occurred to me that I might be scheduling this tournament during Hanukkah. Thank God I missed out on that. As soon as January rolls around it's going to be much easier to schedule events.

It also just occurred to me that I might be scheduling this tournament during Hanukkah. Even for the observant, it isn't much of a religious holiday, as far as my understanding goes. Obviously D3G will be there for the title defense. Time Walk is about to be the last card I need for my Oath deck to be proxy-free, so if I make the finals of this one, there will be no splits this time.

I actually just burst out laughing as soon as I read that. Hanukkah is a joke holiday don't worry about it.

I actually just burst out laughing as soon as I read that. Hanukkah is a joke holiday don't worry about it. Alright, alright, I'm not exactly an ignorant Catholic. There are a lot of Jewish Magic players (in New York at least) and I'd like to cater to everyone that I can. The holiday ends on Friday the 18th though, so no worries. 9th: 4x Foil Mudhole That's good enough reason for me to come. I think it's a slightly more useful card than Carnival of Souls (or Sorrow's Path, or Floral Spuzzum) - so in that case, I'm not sure it's better. But I've got a short list of awful cards that I'm looking forward to handing out to 9th... If Mastriano is willing crazy enough to make the drive again and I don't have the flu this time around, I am in! I would love to see you at one of my events, though I did hear from him that he's considering moving to Philadelphia sometime in the next few weeks.

Nick Detwiler, I'd like to replace our bet from Facebook last night with the following, as it costs about the same but is much more fun:
If the Yankees win the World Series (unlikely), I will purchase and wear a Yankees hat for the duration of the NYSE IV in December.
If the Phillies win the World Series (a near certainty), you will purchase and wear a Phillies hat for the duration of the Philly Open IV in November.
I figure its more fun for us to have to wear the opposing team's hat at a tournament in that city.
Does that work for you? I cross-posted this on the forums for each tournament.

I'm amenable to changing it, and that's not bad, but let me think throughout the day. Perhaps I can come up with something a little better. If not, sure, that's fine.

Nick earnestly believes that his Yankees clothing is some kind of magical armor that protects him from the ever-present and insidious influence of boston and other teams.

Sadly, this is an all-too-common affliction in NY. I can only hope that advances in modern medicine can help us rid the great city of NY from this terrible mental illness.

Well. A lot to respond to.
Max, you guys love playing with me, but you know that I'm not crazy enough to think that wearing Yankees gear is some kind of shield.
Matt, you can talk about delusional people, but the only deluded people I see lately are Phillies fans.
And everyone else - show up! This is going to be a great event, and it will be better for all of you having gone...

For this series, we were better. I'll say it again, I like your team. You have the best 2B in baseball, Cliff Lee is awesome, and you've got a tremendous slugger in Ryan Howard. I don't care about the Mets, but it is fun to watch the Phillies make Mets fans squirm. I have nothing against the Phillies, just like I have nothing against 28 teams in baseball. I'm going to the parade tomorrow. We have time to discuss details on your temporary Yankee fandom...
