Snow?  Please...  I'll believe it when it's on the ground.  It's always either too warm, blown out to the ocean, or mis-forecast in the first place.

Tomorrow's going to be awesome.  I can't wait to see everyone there.

Just so that this is clear, and everyone knows before leaving tomorrow;

I AM HOLDING THIS EVENT.

I would ask everyone to please leave more than enough time for the drive.  If you feel wary about making the trip, no worries, I more than understand.  To the hearty souls who make the trip - you're true competitors.

If you have questions, concerns, comments, please contact me via PM.

This tournament will happen and it will be a success.

Keep your faith in whatever God you pray to and in N.Y.S.E.!!!

I think that it will be harder to drive the deck that I´m taking but its an spanish player suggestion and I will try if Iron_Chef can go to the event, becuae I need some cards.. if doesn´t go I have another in the vault Wink.

Looks like others I was going to ride with are likely to bail due to the potential weather, so it's looking pretty unlikely right now.

Still, it's always possible that reason will win out, and that someone will get a call saying "hold the tournament, we've got a carload hust down the road..."

The tournament is on, and I'll be at Grim within the next couple of hours.  If the weather is as bad as they say it's going to be then there will be no side event.    I will look to make this as safe as possible for everyone involved, especially anyone doing any traveling on the day.  If you're on the road and you have concerns, PLEASE CALL THE STORE TO LET THEM KNOW.  If you're running late for the event because of the weather PLEASE CALL THE STORE TO LET THEM KNOW.

Unfortunately, I ended up wussing out on going to this event due to the weather. I hope those who made the trip had a good time and are able to get home safely.

I am looking forward to the next one in January, however.

Thanks for another great tourney.

Sorry I skipped out on dinner, I got an emergency call and had to go straight home, I didn't have anyone's number to let them know I'm alive.

Snow was pretty bad,but the event was awesome.
Contrats on the win Austin

Once again a great tournament held by Nick. I ended up coming out on top playing Oath going 4-0-1 in the swiss and winning against Ashok in the finals.

Props:
Nick, Aaron and Brothers Grim for holding the event.
The 29? people who made it out in this terrible weather especially everyone who came in from out of state and from Manhattan.
Everyone who I played against. No one made it easy for this win and it wouldn't be fun if I didn't have to work for it.
Matt Elias for talking with me about the list ahead of time, helping me out with it.
T.G.I. Fridays for still being open with a hella lot of snow on the ground. Ribs are awesome.
Wolf Shirts for being awesome.

Slops:
Blizzards. Sorry Nick or whoever runs a tournament, I will def not be coming out in weather like this again unless it's in my own house.
Snow for getting Jimmy and I stuck one too many times. Lets face it, once is one too many times.

I haev a first turn Llanowar Elf. He casts Ancestral, a slightly stronger card from the same set.

Congrats on the finish.

Can you describe the getting stuck and the getting unstuck?

I'm sure some amazing tournament reports are coming out of this one.

The getting stuck/unstuck was nothing too exciting. Pulled over because the person we were following pulled over, couldn't move from the spot when trying to leave, then Nick, Jimmy, Myself and Aaron worked to get us unstuck.

Despite the weather it was a great tourney! (my 1.5 hour drive home took 4)

I'm pretty happy that I made it to the finals on my first try playing vintage again!

Congrats to Austin for winning...everyone at the tourney including all my opponents were pretty awesome and you'll see me around the tourney scene again for sure.

Austin, nice job.  I told you the deck was good!   Smile  We'll have to chat about what you'd change for next time, if anything.

A hearty thanks to all the brave souls who ventured to Long Island for an incredible day of Vintage.  We had a shockingly good 29 players duking it out for an Unlimited Time Walk, all while a snowstorm made its presence felt outside.

The tournament report should be up by tomorrow night.  Sadly there are no pictures.  There were, however, foil Goatnappers, which more than make up for that though...

I think the real prize was the 9th place Wolf Shirt provided by Nick Coss. I'd rather have one of those instead of any other prize.

I seriously missed out on a Wolf Shirt? I might have been able to cure my Aids problem ;-;

I could have made it, but decided against going for the better judgment of my wallet and the fact that I haven't played a single game of Vintage since the week before the last Philly Open... I didn't feel up for playing at all Friday, so it was probably for the better.

Congrats to whoever won my 9th place prize though!

Yes, they are, I take no too much pictures but I have at least one of the top 8 when they were starting playing. Give me your e-mail and I can send you (I take more pictures of the snow Smile).
