This guy's home is probably Oath.

A deck with one of the highest win-con densities in the format and a reliance on short-game effects like Spell Pierce wants this guy more than, say, "the deck"?

Any interest in putting together/maintaining a Github Git project that hosts proven decks of all major archetypes and documents their changes over time?

That's precisely why Oath wants Jace.   Jace can Brainstorm men back.

I feel like if Time Vault ever got re-errated/banned, then this guy might have a chance, but why not play Tezz to untap==>Win?

I don't think he's unplayable, I just think there's a better option.

Pfft who needs Key+Vault+win condition vs library RFG effects for 3UU when you can have two brainstorms for 2UU. :O

Not only that, but I've found Oath to suffer somewhat in the long run because of all the "dead" stuff if you can;t get Oath active- Jace adds a powerful tool to survive the long game in the cases where you can't win the short one.

But yeah, the continuous ability to B.S. your way out of bad topdecks along with a control tool that doesn;t cost mana seems Tailor-made for Oath.

As well as bounce meddling mage/trygon predator/anything else that's troublesome when you're playing oath

I have already tested Jace quite a lot in Oath. It functions are perfectly made for this kind of deck, especially as it helps against Sac Sac being another win condition. The only anyoing things are the spirit tokens. For that I don't want play too many Planeswalker and Tezzeret was a must have in my build so far.

I played Iona Oath last weekend at the Breda tournament with 1 Jace and 1 Tezzeret maindeck. I played 1 Iona and 1 Sphinx of the Steel Wind as creatures.
I went 4-2 (R1 2-0 vs MUD, R2 0-2 vs MUD , R3 2-0 vs Goblins, R4 2-1 vs MUD, R5 0-2 vs NobleFish, R6 2-0 vs Dredge)

Due to the high presence of MUD I didn't cast Jace that often. I only got it into play one game against Goblins and one game against MUD.
Game 1 vs goblins I assembled Vault/Key and he wanted to see me play it out to see my victory condition, when I played Jace he scooped. So I had the opportunity to hide the fact that I played Oath. I think he put me on Tezz.
The other game I played him when I was going nuts on my yawg will turn against MUD , which prompted a scoop.
All in all I won 8 games ( Once with Jace's ultimate , once with Tezz ultimate, twice with oathing up creatures , thrice with tinkering in Sphinx and once with hardcast Iona)
I prefer Jace over Scroll Rack because he doesn't only put back your beasties and other useless stuff back on top, but increases your threatdensity.
