THE PHILLY OPEN 5
Yes, it's that time again! Saturday, Febuary 27th magic players will gather in Philadelphia to sling cards, have fun, and compete for some great prizes. The PA Convention Center got back to me, and once again the Philly Open will be next to the Reading Terminal Market! For those of you not in the know, the Reading Terminal Market is the "Stone Blade" aka AWESOME (to be measured in the number of wolf shirts it would take to compete with it's level of awesomeness). This time instead of Type 2 I will be holding a large Extended tournament. Just wait until you see the prizes for this one.

CE Rotisserie Draft tournament:Start time: 3:00 PM
Entry Fee: $30
This tournament is limited to the first eight people who sign up and pay on-site. I won't be accepting preregistrations because of the potential for fifty no-shows. This is ridiculously fun and everyone who participated had a blast the last time I ran this and it was the talk of the local community. I own a CE set that people will draft from. The way a Rotisserie Draft works is I lay out the entire set (minus basic land) and people draft from it, face up. Picks wheel, with 8th pick getting 9th pick, and 1st getting 16th and so on (just like fantasy sports). After the tournament all of the cards need to be returned. Sorry, I just can't afford to give out a $800 set of cards in addition (unless it turns into a $100 per person event, with no additional prizes, just a thought).
Prize:
1st: $160 in credit at my table.
2nd: $80 in credit at my table.
Dealers: I will be set up as a dealer at the show. I will be buying, selling, and trading cards all day long. Please respect the fact that this is what makes it worthwhile for me to spend weeks of my time and thousands of dollars out of my pocket preparing and running the Philly Opens. While trading cards with other players is always fine, please leave the buying and selling to me.
