You're 2-4 against me Tiger.  Beat me two more times and you can be a little more assured.

Seriously though, how much fun would a team event be?

@TOOL,
OMG you serious?! Are you dragging The Ancient One with you ? (I sure hope so)... just remember to pay a mana to untap him as I don't think he'll fit in the car tapped.

Another little tidbit; there will be a trivia event run by Ryan Glackin (KingSquee) on TMD.  He will post here with details to follow, who's up for it?

OK here are the details of the trivia event. Hopefully with some advance notice it will go off this time! We plan to start it when the Top 8 of the main Extended event begins.

Information on entry fee (it will be very low) and prizes will be coming shortly, as soon as I figure it out with Nick. I'll fight hard for wolf shirts!

It will be a three-man team event run similar to Maro's Question Mark events. We'll have a number of swiss rounds based on the number of entrants. Each round your team will be competing against one other team. If your team wins, you get three points. A tie is good for 1 point, and a loss is 0 points obv. Then we'll re-pair for the next round.

Each Swiss round will present a unique challenge. For example, for the event that didn't go off at the last Philly Open I had the following challenges ready:

  • Creatures with printed power 9 or greater
  • Cards you can fetch with a Misty Rainforest
  • Guess the card art (I can assure you we'll have this one again, with different cards obv...)
  • All cards with mana cost  {W} {U} {B} {R} {G}
  • All legendary Goblins

After the Swiss rounds we'll cut to the Top 8 teams and play Creature Type Scattergories to decide the Top 4! What's that, you'll ask? You'll have to find out...

Once we cut to top 4 we will be running my patented Gatherer Showdown to decide the winning team. It works similar to a grade-school spelling bee. I will click the "random card" link in Gatherer and read all the details of the card I can without giving it away. You have one guess to tell me what the card is. If you're right, you're still alive! If you're wrong, sit down, you're out! Last man standing wins for their team!

For example I just clicked the link right now, and here's what I would say for the card that appeared: "Artifact from Chronicles, 3 to cast, 2 and tap to draw a card then discard a card."

Whoever said Jalum Tome, go get yourself a Girl Scout cookie!

If a basic land pops up I'll skip it. Also if all top 4 teams agree, I will skip Unglued, Unhinged, Portal 1,2,3, and the Starter sets. If one team objects, be prepared to know what Borrowing 100,000 Arrows does!

Corporate Jet is fueled up and good to go....

I'm officially calling out eveybody to come and face me (especially some Meandeckers I've been wanting to face)... now is your shot at beating a Dutch player... as I'm attending this event 100% for sure. I'll be spending 6 days in NYC and 1 in Philly.

Oh snap!

Nick, we need a team event.  A real team event.  I would want nothing more than a team event in which I get to play with Marius and another R&D'er next to us.  Come on, make it happen!

This, obv. We need an event in which D3G can show it's clearly the best team on the east coast.

Oh man, apparently this thing turned into a two-day event.  I just bought a shirt specifically to wear at the first part of the event, but I shall be there at both.  And yes, as per my agreement with Nick Detwiler, I will have 4x Mishra's Workshop in my deck for both events.

Fogo is nice but maggiano's is a half block walk from the convention center. Also, interesting note looking up the exact address of Fogo, it is located at 1337 Chestnut Street. Pretty sick imo.

I could definitely go for fogo after the tournament.  Why haven't we done this before?  The only downside is that Dr. James P. Hangley III, Esquire would definitely get us kicked out.  They probably wouldn't be as understanding as Fridays was.  For instance, juggling steak knives? Out.  Jets cheer? Out.  I can see this ending badly.

I vote for 'old reliable' - the Hard Rock Cafe.  It's two blocks from the Convention Center and it's where we've had all of our other post tourney meals.  I'm surprised it wasn't mentioned yet.

Don't forget the Convention Center is right in Chinatown, which has some pretty great restaurants on it's own. Though, they might not appreciate juggling steak knives and such. Philly has some great places to eat very close to the CC, so even getting kicked out of one place, there are still plenty left!

So we need a knife juggling friendly place as well as one that can fit 17± people, serves 4 horsemen, has a waiting staff that will take my abuse, and let me play plate frisbee. Hmmm seems like chuck e cheese to me!

Oh, I'm certain the family eating establishment full of children and animatronic robots would LOVE to have someone there slinging knives and threatening to drop trousers every few minutes.  No WAY you get booted out of that place.

Charles Earnest Cheese will welcome our group with open arms. I am sure that dancing with the animatronics is not a frowned upon thing and is very welcomed. I don't believe that they serve 4 horsemen... Too bad. Sad way to dream crush me Charles Earnest Cheese

Just an FYI; I tried to buy 100 boxes of Girl Scout cookies to give away as prizes, and they wouldn't let me buy them.  Apparently there's some rule about not reselling cookies, which is what they assumed I'd be doing.... Now where to hijack an order of delicious prizes..

So what, now you're an underground Girl Scout cookie dealer?

How much for those Tagalongs?  I need my fix, bad...

I would have loved to have overheard that conversation.  You should have just had a bunch of people order 20 boxes each.
