Hi there,
apologies, if this was covered in the forum before, I did not find a suitable topic, neither did I find adequate Decklists on the net.
I would like to play MUD but do not own Power or Workshops, neither do I have the intention to buy them. I guess one should be able to abuse the possible 13 sphere effects in an unpowered deck.
I'm not sure whether to build a mono brown list or to play red.
If the list was to be mono brown, this is what I thought about for a start.
4 Sphere of Resistance 4 Thorn of Amethyst 1 Trinisphere 4 Chalice of the Void
3 Sculpting Steel
4 Wasteland 1 Strip Mine 3 Crucible of Worlds 4 Null Rod
4 Metal Worker 4 Loadstone Golem 4 Juggernaut 3 Triskelion
1 Lotus Petal 1 Sol Ring 1 Mana Crypt 1 Mana Vault
4 Ancient Tomb 4 City of Traitors 4 Mishra’s Factory 1 Tolarian Academy
Any help (or info about existing decklists) would be greatly appreciated.
Regards, Matthias

I would not run Null Rod and Metalworker in the same deck.
And I think you're a bit low on manasources. Perhaps you could try Crystal Vein?

Null Rod is definitely a no no here, as Duncan Stated. Crystal Vein is also a good suggestion.
4 City of Traitors may end up biting you in the ass if you don't have crucible -- I'd either up the crucible count to 4, or perhaps remove 1-2 cities in place of other mana sources.
Have you considered taking advantage of the combo of Grim Monoliths and Voltaic Keys? Seems like they would be decent alternatives to moxen. The keys have synergies with Metalworker and Mishra's factory, as well.
Are you playing in a completely un-powered meta?

artifact lands
Don't play a lot of them, or you'll flat out die to Null Rod.

In this deck, Grim monolith is an absolute must have, it's alot better than Lotus petal.

Don't play a lot of them, or you'll flat out die to Null Rod. I am willing to bet that if he is going to run a powerless and shopless list, then he will not have to worry with null rod.

To expound a bit, if you do not roll with the explosiveness of shops and power, then we need to adjust the build a bit.
Personally, i would play this as an U, aggro mud-
Something along the lines of- 4 spheres 4 thorns 4 aether vial
4 lodestones 4 master of etherium 4 etherium sculptor 4 myr enforcer 4 frogmite
4 thoughtcast (though kinda sucks with spheres rolling, still probably your best option)
1 mana vault 1 sol ring 1 crypt 1 petal
4 darksteel 4 seat of synod 8 other artifact lands depending on your bord 4 mishra's factory
