Blue Bell Game Day #5!

Saturday, June 12th, 2010  There is a local PTQ on June 12th; this will be on the 19th
    Alternate Universes
    1530 DeKalb Pike
    Blue Bell, PA 19422

   Vintage Event

Start Time: 12:00 Noon (Registration @ 11:00 AM) <--- I'm expecting a group from Pittsburgh because you get to sleep in  Very Happy
        Entry Fee: $25
        Format: Vintage
K-Value: Unsanctioned, 10 proxies allowed for free. You can purchase up to five more proxies at $1 each.
        REL: Competitive (like a PTQ)
Decklists will be required (and published).

        The Prizes:
1st Place: Beta (that's right folks BLACK BORDER) Mox Jet
2nd Place: $250 in credit (I can see this becoming a MOX easily if enough players show up!)
        3rd + 4th Place: $100 in table credit
5th-8th Place: $50 in table credit
        9th Place: a Three Wolf Moon T-Shirt
Highest player with no proxies: $25 in table credit

2010 Player of the Year Race:
This event will count towards Player of the Year 2010! Players can earn points throughout the year by playing vintage, each match win is worth 3 points, each draw is worth 1 point, and each loss is worth 0 points (just like the swiss points system used in tournaments). Players in the Top 8 will be awarded bonus points based on their finish, as follows:

        1st place: 12 points
        2nd place: 9 points
        3rd + 4th place: 6 points
        5th - 8th place: 3 points

   Side Events:

Sanctioned Vintage: (YES that means no proxies!)

Start Time: After the last swiss round.
        Entry Fee: $5
        Format: Vintage
        K-Value: 16k

        Prizes:
1st Place: $50 in table credit. (minimum of 8 players)
2nd-8th: Based on the number of players.

My Player of the Year contest has nothing to do with Wizards of the Coast Player of the Year contest.  Do not confuse the two.  Mine is for participants in my unsanctioned Vintage tournaments.

If it stays the 12th I am definitly out. If it is the 19th, then it's a coin flip between this and a cash tourney in NY.

I will try to make this.

Do or do not. There is no try.

Unless something even more epic comes up (doubtful), I will be there.

I'll be there, natch!

One small request though... can we move the tournament to Long Island so I have a chance of doing well? Can't seem to do better than 3-3 at Blue Bell this year...

I'll be there, probably not running the cats though. Maybe I'll try to win? Nah.

I expect an epic post tourni dinner, thats the real main event.

I'd much rather see you drunk.  And I don't think you'll refuse drinks, especially when partially inebriated.

I'm hoping to be there, if my work will allow it. Hopefully a few of the NEPA people will be in attendance.

And CATS has nothing on a properly metagamed Thallid deck. I'm not giving away my secret list just yet...

I'll be there as well.  I look forward to seeing if my knowledge and game play have improved further since New York's event.  i'm also sure there will be a big contingent coming from N.E.P.A. yet again.

I look forward to actually playing a viable deck and probably losing. Can we make me a HOF punter plaque?

I have a Dredge deck that's spare.  I may have a Tezz deck to lend you too.

Throw in some Workshops and Monkey Cage and that seems more like a Travis deck  Wink

I should also have an extra Tezz and Dredge deck to spare, with extra SB cards for each deck.

this will be the first magic I've played in about 6 months, I can't wait to see the looks on peoples faces when they lose to a war mammoth again.

Monkey Cage had to be my favorite, maybe March of the Machines.
