So the thing is I REALLY want to go to this event so I can meet a bunch of you guys that I've talked to and never met and have and support the Vintage Community! I've never been to a Waterbury before and I feel like this is a must attend to just meet everyone! Problem is finances are really tough for me and although I can afford the entry fee by saving like 5 bucks a week and even driving down there its to far to drive there and back and cant really afford a room, esp by myself.  I live in Lakes Region NH. Can anyone help me with a place to stay or any other suggestions!  I've been on these boards for awhile and LOVE playing Vintage Magic. I've talked to some of you VIA instant messenger and stuff and I would like to put names with faces and have a blast with you guys! Any Help Would Be Appreciated! Thanks, John Joyce AKA MagicMan

There will be a bunch of us heading out from Myriad Games in Salem early on the saturday morning and returning late (ie sunday morning in the wee hours). If you can get yourself down to Salem, we are going to car pool, we don't yet know, but it looks like it might be two cars regardless.

Fortunately, I will be able to make this.  My band is playing a show in Waterbury that night.

I will be there!

I can stay for another day if anyone else has room for me to crash (either at someone's place and I'll buy beer, bud, fun or a hotel and I'll throw down bills)

I have never been to a Waterbury, but the last time I partied with Forcethewill and rubecube I passed out on the couch with a beer in my hand, and when someone was driving me home I told them I lived at the bank.

Also I heard rumors that there is some sort of magic tournament this same day, is this true?

I thought it was a 7/11.  And the bank.  And some random corner in RVC.

Somehow I feel like this is going to be better, and worse for you...

I rocked a lot of people at that party. I've been told I was carrying a guitar hero guitar attempting to play real guitar on it and telling people they were getting rocked. Also, limes are not good substitutes for pong balls. Challengers don't appreciate when you claim victory after bowling over their rack.

I'm attempting to try and make arrangements to get up from DC to this event, now that I am back on this coast. Any tips? Would flying be best? I could also take a train to meet a carpool, if possible.

If I can make it, I'm down. I've love to see a 100+ person vintage event.

I actually know the answer to this since I just went to Baltimore.

Step 1: Take a MegaBus from DC to NYC.
Step 2: Walk 10 blocks from Penn Station to Port Authority
Step 3: Take a Peter Pan Bus from NYC to Waterbury.
Step 4: Walk across the street(literally...you could throw a rock from where the bus drops you off and hit the hotel).

Hope that helps.

Thanks, that's super helpful for me. Do the buses down to DC leave from the same locations?

edit: I really did mean buses.

Not trains, busses. And yes, the route is essentially the same in reverse.
