Ray,

To make Waterbury even more epic - have players give their TMD handle when signing up and have it appear on match slips - it would be really cool to know what someone has posted and their opinions after playing them. It would lead to some great conversations.

I've never worked the computer for a tournament - if the DCI# field happens to be a alpha/numeric that would be a good place to start (or if there is a misc field).

Yet again, I don't know how to execute the idea - just that it would make for a good time.

I haven't been this excited about magic in several years.  A new mirrodin block coming out soon, and a halfway decent metagame.  Not much more to ask for except for some girl on girl action at this tournament.

Also, a big announcement will be made at Waterbury about some future vintage tournaments.

I'll be coming, and likely in a car pool.

I hope Chris Pikula makes it, as this would make it even more cool in the history of Vitnage.

Yes I'm in a bad spot. If I decide to skip Waterbury I'll probably go to NYSE and play for a Lotus this weekend, so at least I get something back in the trade.

Okay...having heard no word from any dealers/vendors for day two, it looks like we won't be able to hold a day 2 at Waterbury.

I really want to have a day 2 for the tons of people coming in from out of state.  Thus, I have reserved a spot at gamingetc in Stratford for a day 2 event.

I don't see how this could possibly detract from anyone enjoying the day 1 Waterbury Marriott experience as there is absolutely no obligation to play in the day two event 30 minutes south of Waterbury.  However, it could only be a positive thing to offer it as an awesome addition to an already awesome weekend for those who would like it.

I have modified the original post to include information about it.

The only thing up in the air is the format of the free side event.  This will be a you-make-the-format event.  See here:
http://www.themanadrain.com/index.php?topic=41020.0
for more details.

@Everybody,
There is 1 thing "delaying" this announcement (I need to find a plane ticket cheaply) but as I've just returned with a full week vacation time ahead of me I can safely assume I can fix the problem rather easy so I'll just come out and say it:

THE TMD OPEN IS GOING TO HIGHLY LIKELY BE +1 Dutch VINTAGE TO, JUDGE, PLAYER!!

There I said it, I'll gladly throw down the gauntlet towards all other Vintage Teams to come battle against me and the rest of RND, I might be jetlagged and running an awefull deck but It should be loads of fun.... Since I'll be flying Solo this time I'll have all the time in the world (Read: No Girlfriend tagging along) for after parties and what not, lets see if you Americans can party!!!

Do come and say "HI!!" as I'd love to meet most of the folks I haven't met in earlier trips and obv I'd love to see the people I've already met or become friends with again!

Marske,

If I recall correctly, I played you round 1 at GP Chicago in the vintage side event.  If that is correct, it will be great to see you again.  If not, I look forward to meeting you.

As for all you Yankees, keep in mind how depressing it was when 100+ Americans got beat on their own soil by a single foreigner at Vintage Champs just over a year ago.  Let's not be humiliated again, okay?

Let's just be sure we get over 200 people like TMD 7 so I can brag that I've won the 2 largest vintage tournaments in the United States instead of ONLY the largest.

So I won tmd 7, it seems fitting 5 years later to win 14.

The last guy to come back from vegas to play at a TMD open won the whole thing.

So, wait, Travis-- did you win one of the prior Waterburies or something?  It sounds like that's what you're getting at but I'm not exactly sure.  Clarify?
