I've been talking to a few friends, and it seems like Alex Bertoncini may be taking his SCG Open Series power for a ride at this event. Forget about Jeff Menges, I want Alex B to sign my cards. forget about cards, I want Jeff Menges to sign my Alex B.

OK this looks awesome, I'm in.  Will be looking forward to seeing Copes there too; I'll throw my hat in with the many others who have his back.
Glad to see this.  Are you still in the NYC area?  I remember you mentioning that you were moving back up to the NE area... Alex is a premium writer now.  You have to pay for that signature.  Elias gets $10 per card signed, so... Threads for team voting for all three teams are now up.
Grudge Match Bingo is now up as well.
I'm looking forward to seeing who New England and Pennsylvania send to get beaten by New York this time...

Didnt Joe Brown, a Pa player, win the last grudge match?  Seems like it should be Pennsylvania bragging and not New York.
I also remember Team Pa only loosing the team competition by 1 point, and I dont think that that leaves much room to brag.

that was actually me.   I was speaking to a crowd of young people back in the summer of 89.  This was following the major right hand surgery I had after being a savage top decker and having to be forcibly retired from the world of ccg's.  after being frozen I was awoken some time during the Ice age block.  My right hand had been replaced with a cupcake and I was ready to roll.  However I had lost all ability to actually speak and could only use inaudible grunts.  My vocal chords had withered from lack use and I needed to power them back up.         To repower my once vocalizer, I crossed the rainbow bridge from midgarg to asgard to see my father.  There he gave me a magical drink.  With it I became the man who I am today.  Some may know me as the loose goose, other know me as the red baron.  Ive gone as many diffrent names over the years.  but Champion of the grudge match shall be my next one.   come get some! love The Loose Goose

I’ve had a fair number of people ask me about day two.  I wanted to up the ante on the prize structure.
Players have generally seemed to find a cash tournament for day two relatively unattractive.  With that in mind, I’m going to offer a compromise of sorts.
  Here are the details:
   What:
$20, 15 proxy, non-sanctioned Vintage tournament.  1-19 entrants will  result in the following cash prize structure (90% of entry fees):
1st: 40% of prize pool 2nd: 20% of prize pool 3rd/4th: 10% of prize pool 5th-8th:  5% of prize pool
At 20 entrants, the prize support changes, with an Unlimited Mox Pearl being given out to first place and an English Mana Drain being given out to second.  Additional prize support will be added with each 5 additional entrants into the event.
   When:
January 9th, 2011 Day Two, Grudge Match 11am registration, 12 noon start.
   Where:
Brothers Grim 1244 Middle Country Road Selden, New York 11784
If anybody has any cool suggestions, PM me your ideas.

I'm going to be staying at the hotel that night, so I'd imagine that the Russians are going to be making an appearance - potentially killing a German you know.  It's never the first or the second, but always the third one that gets you... I was asked via PM if a player should bring a blank playmat if they'd like to have Jeff do an alteration for them.  While there's nothing wrong with a sure thing, Brothers Grim does sell blank playmats and has a fair number in stock at the moment in case anyone else is looking for an altered mat.   I would also ask anyone who is looking for Jeff to do alterations, and not just signings, to please speak with him as soon as you get a chance.  Alterations take time, and while many of us will be there for both days of the event, Jeff will not.  I'm sure that Jeff will accomodate everybody that he can, but I'd like to try and give him a rough idea of what he's looking at when he walks through the door.  It's best not to have him wait until the last hour or so that he's there before you ask him, Lord knows there will be others there looking for the same thing.  Thanks in advance...

If I can help get you a ride from Long Island to wherever, I will.  Where are you coming from?   Basically I need to make it from Forbes Avenue near Pitt/CMU in Pittsburgh all the way to the store in Long Island and back.  My best bet is probably to find someone in the Pittsburgh area who's going and tag along with them (don't worry, I pay) for the round trip.  Unfortunately, I need to be back at a decent hour on Sunday to make Monday classes, so no day two.  Any help is much appreciated but don't go too far out of your way because I still have other options (albeit more painful than a straight drive).

Anyone from the Boston area attending that has in the past? Interested in coming out to this one and would like to know best directions etc.  Also if I'm available to go I wouldn't be opposed to car pooling (in my car or someone else's) in an effort to reduce the cost of gas. PM me please.

Hmmm, do I stay for Day 2 or try to get Eagles playoff tickets when they go on sale Wednesday? Decisions, decisions!
Kinda wish I was a New York fan and didn't face such a dilemma!
  j/k no I don't!
... btw I'm 99.9% certain I'll be staying for day 2. Just had to get that out there!

							Glad to hear it Glackin.
I'm working on rides for everybody who needs transportation from the train stations, so please, please, please get in touch with me as soon as possible in order to let me know that you either needed a ride, or something else.
The day of the event will see a flurry of last minute things going on, so the more things that we can take care of now, the better...
Send me a PM if there's anything that you think I can help out with.  If I can, I will.

If anyone does need a lift from the trains and can get to Ronkonkama, I can make an easy stop over there.

Shuffles, much like commas, are useful for altering tempo to add feeling.
