Not sure where to post this on TMD (we're posting it on The Source as well), but we'll be hosting a Back-to-Back weekend of Eternal Magic on the 11th and 12th of December, with this event on Saturday and a Legacy event on Sunday the 12th!
Same registration times, entry, etc for Legacy.
There are very affordable hotels within walking distance of Myriad Games: Salem, so you can make the trip up, stay overnight, and play in both events!

BALLS. BRASS BALLS! I'll be completing my power for this event! Mark your calendars, this could be the beginning of a new era! An era where every sentence written about Vintage tournaments is so exciting, it requires an exclamation point! We may be taking our first step towards the level of Vintage that Europe enjoys!
To sweeten the deal, and because I won't be holding another Mox event until after the Holidays, I'll be donating a special prize for the person who finishes the highest without any of the following cards in their deck:
THE POWER 12 (P12 for short)
Mox Jet Mox Sapphire Mox Pearl Mox Emerald Mox Ruby Black Lotus Ancestral Recall Time Walk Timetwister Time Vault Mishra's Workshop Bazaar of Baghdad

And to encourage folks to share their decklists (we'd love to see all of them), any player who emails their decklist to Myriad@MyriadGames.com or posts it to the appropriate tournament thread here on TMD will be entered in a Bonus Prize Drawing! Decklists must be received or posted within one week of the event to qualify for the drawing.

Highest placing finish without any of the Power 12 will get a Bonus $25 in Myriad Money from me. That's right, you don't have to be the best player in the room. You don't have to crush everyone in your path. You just need to be the highest placing player to show up without any P12 in their deck. This is on top of the prizes you win as you tear your way through the unprepared meta with whatever creation you brew. Show up. Take your shot at Eternal glory as we bring Sanctioned Vintage back to New England. Become the stuff of Legend as you inspire Vintage players everywhere with your unpowered prowess.
Now of course, I don't plan on losing to any decks that don't cost at least as much as my car. In fact, it is never my plan to lose. To illustrate this point, I'm putting a Mana Drain on the line. First person without P12 in their deck that beats me gets a Mana Drain, right out of my binder. You'll also be a hero to everyone on the planet. Win the event, and, well, if you win the event you might not be unpowered the next time!

If you really wanted to put your mana where your mouth is, since you proclaimed you don't plan on losing, you'd offer the Drain to anyone who beats you, period.

You uncovered my true intentions of encouraging people to show up and play even if they don't have P12. Now if you really wanted to add something to the community you'd offer a small prize to the highest finishing budget player! Perhaps mailing them a Fetchland? Of course, if you really want to call me out, I'll play you one on one at Myriad for whatever card you can afford to lose

I have something bigger than a one-on-one Vintage match in mind, though. I'm thinking something along the lines of a 3-format grudge match, each format being a best 3-of-5 games. There will be 2 constructed formats, one chosen by you, one chosen by me. The third will be a limited format, chosen by a third party (Myriad Games, perhaps), either in advance or the day of. I still need to work out the details with myself, and with Myriad (if they'll be so gracious enough as to host it) but hopefully we can put something in place for one of their January vintage tournaments.

How it can be a grudge match - no one knows who you are with your 6 posts. I have no idea why you're talking about 3 formats and best 3 out of 5. Something bigger? There's no need for something bigger. We both put up a Mox, and I beat you 2 out of 3 in a half hour and get your Mox. I don't have time to splash around in the kiddie pool for 6 hours playing nonsensical formats. You're entirely missing the point of me putting up so much value in prizes to support the budget players. If you want to pretend to be in my league, you forgot to put up a prize for the budget players. If you think you're in my league, you should put up the same prizes. If you're too afraid to do that, then you should at least put up a decent fetchland - Delta or Strand. If you can't do that, then you can't afford to lose a Mox to me anyways.

I demand one of the formats is "uncommons from Urza's Saga" and another is "only play cards with banding or horsemanship" that should be enjoyable to watch. oh one other thing, ante is pretty much illegal, so this is not a good idea for a store to hold it. I've been practicing ELD...I cant wait to hold my new drain.

Eric, it wasn't my intention for this discussion to degenerate into a pissing contest. Yes, you own more cards than me and are a better vintage player than I am. It's clear that I didn't do a good job of illustrating my point, which is: if advertising your challenge to budget players was one made with the intention of supporting and growing the vintage community in the Northeast, then I don't think TMD (where 90% of your audience owns one of the Power 12) was the best place to do it. My idea of a "grudge match" (certainly the term is up for debate) was to get people who normally wouldn't be exposed to vintage a chance to watch some matches and learn a thing or two. Advertise it in the store and on their online event calendar, have door prizes, trivia contests, etc. Maybe this would get some new people exposed to and excited about vintage, perhaps some FNM crossovers, instead of having the same 11-12 people show up every month to battle it out. I'm more than willing to put up my own cards as prizes, but what is losing a Mox to you going to do for the vintage community? If all people had to do was show up one day, with the chance to win some cards and learn something about vintage, I think that effort would go a lot farther. Hopefully this explanation makes my previous post a little clearer. If it's still something you'd perhaps consider, I'd be more than happy to discuss the details offline, so as not to derail this thread any more.

I'm not pissing. Bring your Mox. I'm more than willing to put up my own cards as prizes, but what is losing a Mox to you going to do for the vintage community? I'll give it back to the community at my big summer event this year. It will be a bonus prize, not taking anything away from the prize pool. Besides, what have you done period for the Vintage community? Where is the prize support you're putting up for this weekend? oh one other thing, ante is pretty much illegal, so this is not a good idea for a store to hold it. Appreciate the concern Mike. We'd run it as a single round tournament, with the entry fee being a Mox. First place gets both Moxes. Doesn't matter much, since he didn't even put up a Fetchland to support the community, there's no way he's going to put up a Mox anyways.

Back to the Tournament discussion:
Who is coming? Are you taking up the challenge?
I can tell you right now I am taking up the challenge ELD posted, and plan on winning.
Dan, please withhold my deck list in advance- I don't want this tech getting out to the public. The ramifications would change vintage as we know it, and the format would most likely be renamed in my honor. Wizards can't handle this type of media coverage right now, let's not go crazy here.

For anyone on the fence about this, I have a spare deck that is non power 12. I will readily admit it is not heavily tested, but it is a deck that i think has a shot at siome upsets. Let me know if you would be interested in borrowing it, or first person to ask me tomorrow will have it leant to them. Lets try and get a good turnout and show that Sanctioned Vintage is possible in the US.
