Blue Bell Game Day #11!

    Saturday, January 15th, 2011
    Alternate Universes
    1530 DeKalb Pike
    Blue Bell, PA 19422

   Vintage Event

Start Time: 12:00 Noon (Registration @ 11:00 AM)
        Entry Fee: $30
        Format: Vintage
K-Value: Unsanctioned, 10 proxies allowed for free. You can purchase up to five more proxies at $1 each.
        REL: Competitive (like a PTQ)
Decklists will be required (and published).

The Prizes: (these prizes are based on +/- 45 players, and will definitely go up if we have more)
        1st Place: UL Mox Sapphire
        2nd Place: UL Mox Ruby
        3rd + 4th Place: $120 in table credit
5th-8th Place: $60 in table credit

2011 Player of the Year Race:
It's a new year, and time for a fresh start in terms of points! This event will count towards my Blue Bell Game Day Player of the Year 2011.  The Player of the Year plays for free at all of the Blue Bell Game Days the following calendar year!  Players can earn points throughout the year by playing vintage, each match win is worth 3 points, each draw is worth 1 point, and each loss is worth 0 points (just like the swiss points system used in tournaments). Players in the Top 8 will be awarded bonus points based on their finish, as follows:

        1st place: 12 points
        2nd place: 9 points
        3rd + 4th place: 6 points
        5th - 8th place: 3 points

Vintage Side Event:

Start Time: After the last swiss round.
        Entry Fee: $10
        Format: Vintage
        K-Value: Unsanctioned, 15 proxies

        Prizes:
        1st Place: Italian Mana Drain
2nd - 8th: Based on the number of players.

The Blue Bell Player of the Year contest has nothing to do with Wizards of the Coast Player of the Year contest.  Do not confuse the two.  This one is for participants in unsanctioned Vintage tournaments held at Alternate Universes in Blue Bell, PA.

Nick,

Just so you know, this is still going up against a Vintage tourney that Mark's Comics is running for a Mox Sapphire as well.

I'm in the same boat, hence why I am mentioning it.

Unfortunately this is the only Saturday that is available in January for me to run a vintage tournament; I talked to Nick Detwiler and he gave the go ahead with conflicting with his NYSE Lite.  Instead of thinking of this as a bad thing, think of it as a good thing!  You have two great events to choose from!  (keep in mind, I fully expect you to go to Marks).

The double Mox thing seemed like a really good draw last time.  You know i'll probably be there.

barring something unforeseen i will be; however, if foreknowledge had been on my side, i'd be going to PA.  i'd much prefer to support your efforts and pay the gas/tolls than support Mark.  plus, i still need a few minutes of your time to iron out the specifics for besieged.

I will happily exchange either mox for the Pearl you need (ok fine if you win the Sapphire I'll give you a little something extra)

Request off has been submitted! If I don't get it I plan on being "sick" that day, so either way I'm there!

Sucks that we won't see most of our New Yawk friends there as the funeral for the Yankees 2011 season another Vintage event is scheduled for that day.

If Mr. Hangley wishes to play in both events I'll do my part to help out, we can run the same decks and he'll tell me what to do via BBM or something...

So, as we get closer to the date, who thinks they're winning this thing?  I'm excited for the first Blue Bell of 2011, who else is ready?

Is anyone making the trek from Pittsburgh?  I don't have a car so I'm looking for a ride, although I might have an out to take the Mega Bus to State College and tag along from there.

I'll walk there in the snow both ways if need be to make this one.  School isn't going to make me miss another event.

In the future get awesome only AFTER the tournament!

(somebody's got to say it)

Anyway of course I shall be there, and likely piloting something other than Noble Fish after my stellar 1-3 performance with it at the Grudge Match.
