I have never seen people so upset about slow play given that I didn't have a single unintentional draw and went to time ONCE, which was concluded on turn 2 of turns.
You okay there, champ? Need a pizza or something? We can always order you a pizza if it will make you feel better. I unfortunately had to miss this. I couldn't find my Gaddock Teegs and Green Sun's Zeniths.

Oh, that was a joke. I had other plans. That was me just continuing to show Guli contempt.

Game 1 of round two took 40 minutes. Not an elbow drop. I've never seen someone dredge so slowly. You went to time almost every round.
Guess that's the risk you take, right? You went to time almost every round. Also, this happened:
MM turn: Cabal Therapy, sees null rod, hurkyl's recall, crucible of worlds. Passes the turn.
I draw my card and pass.
MM does his thing, then goes to Dread Return his Iona. I respond by Misdirecting Dread Return to Ichorid.
Cool story, bro. So who won that match?

In Mike's defense, he has the right to think through his lines of play to mitigate the risk of poor decisions. I did not perceive his slow play as stalling, as cumbersome as it was to watch. Additionally, im amused that the landstill player is harassing the dredge player for games going long. Cheers, Brian

There's going to be a few people at Pande playtesting tonight, if anyone wants to swing by and join us. Some time between 5-6 we'll be showing up

I have a little sad news for August. It looks like the only weekend the store has available is the last weekend, which coincides with an SCG open. There's Standard on Saturday with a Legacy side event, and Legacy on Sunday.
Would you guys prefer that I host the monthly event on that same weekend as SCG Open, or would you prefer to not have one for August and try to host one early September?

I wouldn't be able to make last weekend in august anyway as it is also the same weekend as PAX:Prime. So I'll be in Seattle, so early September would be good for me.

Given that and that no one else has replied, I think we should plan for early september.
I'll see if it's possible for me to double up in October with a small at the beginning and large at the end.

If its a consideration, i'd prefer higher buy-in with higher pay-out. $10 entry fee tournaments feel like more of a playtesting session than a competitive environment.

If its a consideration, i'd prefer higher buy-in with higher pay-out. $10 entry fee tournaments feel like more of a playtesting session than a competitive environment. It was originally $5 in order to provide a small barrier to entry so that we could get new players into the scene instead of it being stagnant. A lot of people have asked for $10 entry, so that's what I'm going to go with for the time being. We'll continue to do the large events for bigger prizes periodically.
