I'm gonna be offline for a week from today, so I'll have to drop out (stupid banking issues).
Sorry to hear that, Nightmare1016 will advance to the next round then. Best 2 out of 3, or 3 out of 5?
I think The Noble and I are going to play tomorrow at 8PM EST.
If it's possible, I'd like to get in on this at the last minute. I've been fairly busy over the past few weeks... opening my brick & mortar store! I have some time now. Just lmk if I can squeak in. Best two out of three, with sideboarding in games two and three. Would Nightmare or others be opposed if you took Darkenslight's (drop) place?

I have one minor concern with the way this is structured: those with a round 1 bye can choose their deck Friday night specifically for its quality against their known round 2 opponent's decklist. Ie. If I play dredge, the sideboard gets graveyard hate-heavy. If I play combo, I could face Remora. If I play Goblins, I'd be up against G/R beats. The result is that you end up needing to play a deck with as few awful matchups as possible, even if those matchups are usually very rare.
Unfortunately, I feel forced to play an archetype that minimizes the number of high bias matchups. I also suspect that this structure will entirely remove Dredge from round 1.
Suggested fix for next time: round 1 bye holders must PM the organizer their decklists by the second day and they will be held confidentially until round 1 is complete.

I feel like the round1 byes should have submitted there decks before the round 1 deck lists were posted. Seems pretty good to know what you are playing round 2 before having to submit a deck list. :/ Other than this I think this is an awesome idea and I'm really excited to be involved in this!

Might I suggest editing the first post of this and/or that of the results thread to include the bracket? It's kind of buried.

I'd like to get the matches in for the first round before we progress to the second. I believe we have the results from two of the three matches that are currently outstanding on the bracket; I think we're only missing Marius vs. JP.

I lost 0-2, the games can be seen here.Ive always had good success with mindbreak trap in the shops MU. If you keep a hand that doesn't have shop (and even some that do) you usually start on land-> mox-> mox-> threat. As you pointed out in the beginning of the video i have 8 cards to board in and a decent amount of soft cards vs you. I auto cut the 2 misdirection, 2 misstep, 1 reb. i also took out 1 null rod, 1 fire//ice, and 1 mindbreak trap. I'm not saying the trap is great but its acts like a 5th FOW turn 1 and thus I've found its worth keeping at least 1 in vs shops.

I lost 0-2, the games can be seen here. What was the reason you opted not to play the Tangle Wire in G1? I would have played the Strip and tapped out for the Wire. If he has Drain, Island, and Jace in had, so be it. Other than sequence of cards on his next turn, there really aren't any plays that bother you.

At the time I was more hung up than I should have been on playing into Drain and having to tap one of my own mana sources the following turn, which made less sense after I drew the Workshop and I guess I just never revised the plan in my mind after drawing. No good reason, just a misplay.

I've made plenty of play errors for that same reason: I formulated a plan, and then failed to revise it on the basis of one piece of new information.

That pattern is my #1 source of play mistakes. That and playing while tired and not noticing the cards that I have or that my opponent plays.
