Definitely not Raul Ibanez, so we can strike that name off the list.

You can join my team. We only have two people and I've never played Magic in person before, but if you join I will Photoshop you a new avatar. Our team qualifications include winning the vaunted TMD Online Ringers II tournament, selling cards at a trade show that Stan Lee went to once, and living in the best place in America.

Marius, I love Holland and I would love to live in Europe again, but NYC is the capital of the world.  There are things that New York offers that nothing in Europe can compete with.  Even windmills... And clogs.

New York is a nice runner up, but Southern California is the true king of Pro Living (TM).

In N Out vs. Five Guys: Winner LA
Weather: Winner LA
Sports: Winner LA (Eli looks weird, Yankees play a boring sport)
Night life: Winner LA
Transportation: Winner LA
Babe Quotient: Winner LA
Dirtiest Streets Award: Winner NY

The verdict is in! Seriously though what is the deal with Five Guys why is it hyped up so much it was horrible ;[

It's not hyped and nobody goes there. . .

And as for transportation quotient. . . that is a joke and a half bro. You're serious now? Seriously. LA > NY when it comes to transportation?

  • 24 hour subway system that will drop you within a 10 minute walk of anything in the city.
  • A dozen designated drivers within hailing distance at all times of day.
  • And if all else fails you can always walk anywhere, because, like, the city is designed that way!

Points on weather, dirtiest streets, and sports well taken.

I'll give you In N Out vs Five Guys and the weather.

But seriously, LA sports, who DON'T HAVE A FOOTBALL TEAM over the World Champs! Get real. And yes, I hate the Yankees, but come on, NY baseball fans don't almost beat an opposing fan to death. On top of that, LA wouldn't even have a sports team is not for the success in New York.

But while I am at it...

Cheaper Gas: Winner NYC (somehow)
Access to Gambling: Winner NYC
Better air: Winner NYC
Better shopping: Winner NYC
Better Pizza: Winner NYC
Better Summer Hot Spot: Winner NYC (The Hamptons/Montauk vs the same old stuff)
Jay Leno vs David Letterman: Winner NYC (ok, you would win if it involved Conan)

You can't compare. The West sure ain't the best.

Whoa, get a load of all the Wrong in this post!

Cheaper gas? Ok, but it's much easier/more fun to drive here. Cruise down Artesia or something after a Lakers game and just have a nice night drive. Go down PCH on a warm afternoon with the top down and look at the ocean. Next!

Gambling: 4.5 hour drive to Vegas, or a 45 minute round trip flight for 90 bucks, or all the Indian stuff less than 30 mins away

Better pizza: fair enough. But when it comes to Mexican food and Japanese food...

Better summer spot: Ahahahahaa.

Hold on I'm still laughing.

Hahahha...you gotta hit up San Diego or Santa Cruz some time in the summer. The atmosphere, the beauty - it's just a wonderful experience. Go to Old Town and sit around drinking cheap beers with homemade tortillas. Walk around Venice on a summer afternoon with one of many street fairs going on and it will change your life. Drive up to the bay area for a weekend in a quaint BnB.

See, now the guy who posted this thread has to join our team so he can come to Disneyland and eat bomb ass carne asada burritos on the beach while meeting all his favorite movie stars!

You're all wrong, you know.  Denver, Colorado has all the perks of California weather and New York big city living, plus the occasional midwestern winter snowfall, ski resorts and vacation towns up the yinyang, the best outdoor hiking / fishing / hunting / biking anywhere in the country, and sweet, sweet dry air to preserve your Magic collection.

P.S. I hear they make alot of pornos in LA.

EDIT: Good Times is 100x better than all of those greasy-ass burger chains ya'll are talking about.

If you're going to a chain for your burger, shame on you.  You didn't mention pizza, bagels, or anything else that we've got over you.

Your weather is better.

Yankees/Giants/Rangers/Knicks are better than Lakers/Dodgers/Kings/oh wait, you don't have a football team.  The Giants won this year, the Yankees won in '09, the Rangers are really good right now and they won in '94 and the Knicks have a history of being terrible.  The Dodgers haven't won since the 80's, the Lakers were great, but need help, the Kings have never won a Stanley Cup and it's impossible for you to win a Superbowl without a football team...

New York nightlife is second to none.  If you're a celebrity nut, they're here too, and if you're looking for cool places to go, come on, nothing tops Manhattan.

Public transportation?  Man, all I know is that, somehow, you have traffic that is worse than ours.  Kind of mind blowing.

This is a preference thing, as everyone has their types.

Dirtiest streets, yeah, probably in New York.

Still, not close though.

Who flys to gamble? Within 90 minutes, we have Atlantic City and the 2 majot casinos in CT. Plus, we have the new hot spots in Philly and everything just north of the City.

In all seriousness, we need a California vs New York vs Philly Grudge Match, since New England isn't a challenge.

Colorado owns too, but consider the following: you have nice snow.

Meanwhile, I can go to Big Bear and ski in about an hour, and still make it to the beach before sunset for some warm water surfing. Checkmate!

So long as you limit your California experience to the area around LA (no fair using the whole state, which spans every damn latitude around), I prefer having the option of a dozen or more world-class resorts and half a dozen fourteeners within a day trip to the ocean, thankyouverymuch!

Seriously you guys, i'll be honest here... Having been on both coasts (i'm currently near LA even) NYC is my most favorite place in the world.

And i've been around everywhere save for asia... I don't know about sports teams as non of you guys have a football team (it's not football if you play with the ball in hands) as Ajax, FC Barcelona beat every sporting team out there by miles... Oh btw didn't the Dutch win the Baseball world championship?!?!

That being said you NFL lovers should check out a real sport like Rugby, no pussy padding (go all blacks!!!).... Psh Americans, I leave for a couple of month's and you get all superior again, this place needed some Dutchifying...

Once you're watching Rugby, you might as well just cut out the middleman and tune into UFC.

Growing up, my dad explained that Football was a thinking man's sport, like chess, and I laughed at him.

Then I watched Rugby.
