About Prizes

We know that many players were concerned about prizes being in the form of store credit and that the selection on CardTitan.com doesn't have much in the way of eternal staples. As you may or may not know, CardTitan.com is still very new (less than a year old) and we're working our hardest to count, grade and upload our HUGE inventory. We started with Standard rares and mythics and are working our way back, but that means of course that many eternal cards aren't represented on the site. Also, we keep a large inventory of cards in our display cases for in-store events, which can be as large as 150 players. ALL of our inventory will be available at the Eternal Weekend for purchase or for those that win prizes. As an example of what players will get to choose from, here is a small sample of some of our eternal cards currently in stock. There are TONS more that are not pictured, but we wanted everyone to understand that there will be tens of thousands of dollars worth of cards available at the Eternal Weekend. Nearly everything pictured above the dual lands is FOIL, many of which are FOREIGN FOIL.

Vintage Champs is just a car ride away. I never could have dreamed it would be this close to home. I now also have an extra three months to finish powering out a deck and expenses will be 1/7th the original cost. This announcement has made my week  Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Honestly, couldn't have happened to a more deserving or nice guy. Stoked to be there for this, and that you got the privilege to do it right. As someone who has supported the format and worked so hard to keep it going, I'm really excited that you get to be the focal point for a weekend.

Isn't this the weekend before? Or do I have my dates wrong? Would be a crying shame if they clashed!

EDIT: They do clash! No offence to the individual promoters but with so few chances to draw attention to Vintage, the decision to pitch the two biggest sanctioned events in the world against each other seems a net loss for the format. I imagine timing-wise it didn't help that BOM surprised everyone with the announcement at Annecy the other day, but it is a real bummer. A flight to the East Coast is within the realms of possibility for European players which could have made this a Vintage Worlds with a more international complexion - now the player base is going to be split. As will viewership and so on.

Of course... a Superbowl style play-off between the two champions is surely a must!

To put on my admin hat for a moment:

I have stickied this topic.  It is too awesome to not be stickied.

The PA Convention Center is a perfect location, for those of you who don't know.  It's a central location, there is parking all around it and the Reading Terminal Market is unreal.

That Vintage Champs is going to be held in my backyard this year pretty much means that I have to go, as well as everyone who calls themselves a Vintage pilot in the Mid Atlantic.  This is an opportunity for us to support a T/O who has supported this format, without fail, for years.  We need to do this.

Nick Coss has done more to support this format and this community than just about anyone else out there.  He is on a very short list of the people who are most dedicated to this format, who have done what they could to grow the format and support its players.  This could not happen to a  better person.  This means great things for Vintage.

Hopefully having this here will spark interest to non vintage players which may then increase our regular attendance
That being said Boo Earns for BoM. That being said, I hope BoM can figure something out maybe a reschedule to their part in October?

As I feared, this conflicts with life, so I won't be able to make it.  HOWEVER, I am extremely excited about the concept of the Eternal Weekend, and I would love to see it continue in this format in the future.  I hope the prizes are awesome, and I hope this event pulls lots and lots of people out of the woodwork who otherwise wouldn't play Vintage or Legacy.

What is this crap? 19 years of tradition thrown away!?!
For the 20 celebration one decides to fly in again and as dates are known people book flights early then some dooshbag moves it 2.5 month early.

For dooshbags only : Your the King, the King Kong , the biggest Ape arround.

It's like burning an alpha lotus for the me , thank you very much.

But in the end it's still held, and thats what matters.

Richard, this reaction is beyond inappropriate and cannot hope to spark anything other than a flame war.  Full warning for flaming - Prospero
