Congratulations to Rob for beating me in the Finals and thank you to all my opponents for giving me a fun time. All of my matches were very fun. A special Congrats to Steven for beating me Game one of the Top 8 with exact damage while I had a Wurmcoil in play.
Thank you Shawn for these Tournaments, they are always loads of fun.
See you all in October hopefully, as I will be unable to attend in the 7th.

I love Rob's list.  It totally has the vibe of, "it's dangerous to go alone . . . take this[pile of cards]!"

Here's my mini-report:

Round One vs. Justin Kohler on Oath?! (I was shocked.)
Game One: I win the roll and lead with Ancestral Recall on his upkeep. It resolves and he draws Misstep for the turn. I Time Walk, play Lotus, Yawg Will, and Ancestral and Walk again. I use the extra turns to sculpt a counter-heavy hand and play Jace. I ultimate him out without seeing anything that would immediately put him on Oath.
Game Two: I mistakenly left in all of my creatures while boarding. It wasn't relevant since his mull to six was always one step ahead of my mull to six. We trade counters over an early Ancestral and Will which clears the way for his Oath. He Oaths up Griselbrand with more than 14 life and I scoop.
Game Three: I have yet another early Ancestral. This time into Battlesphere. He plays an Oath and passes hoping he gets another turn. I Vamp Tutor on my upkeep getting Walk, he shows me his hand of FoW but no blue card, and I take game three.

Round Two vs. Brian Kelly on Cavern Humans
Game One: He starts with Pearl, Sapphire, Thalia which I Mindbreak Trap. Then he tries a turn two Confidant. I let it resolve and Sower it. My counters/burn clear the way for my Sower and his Bob to deal lethal.
Game Two: Succinctly -- he plays turn one Voltaic Key, I turn one Tinker into robot, he plays Time Vault.
Game Three: I immolate all of his creatures and counter his Jace and Batterskull. Late game, Battlesphere gets there because Brian has not drawn a white source the entire game for Path to Exile.

Round Three vs. James Saltsman on Shops
Game One: I try keeping a seven on the draw with plenty of lands but no counters. Two Tangle Wires and a Sphere slow me down just enough while a Porcelain Legionnaire and man lands get in there. By the time I can start building out with artifact mana and Top, my life total is too low to deal with three Factories, Mutavault, and Legionnaire.
Game Two: I get Welder/Shaman going early and lock it up once I resolve Heretic.
Game Three: He leads with Chalice at one, and I breath a sigh of relief holding a Mox and Lotus. I Demonic Tutor for Ancient Grudge to deal with his first two threats, and he bricks after that. I get Vault/Key easily with double Serrated Arrows as his only resistance.

Round Four and Five IDs

Top Eight vs. Vito Picozzo on Full of Win Pyromancer
Game One: I don't recall most of the details this match. I won the roll and fired off an early Will. Beyond that, I don't know exactly how I won.
Game Two: I lose to a bunch of 1/1 Elementals and Jace.
Game Three: Vito got some GushBond action going but drew into answers instead of more action. He Nihil Spellbombed my graveyard, which had Key, buying himself multiple turns. Then he played Grudge, Bolt, and the Fire half to deal with my Battlesphere and tokens. I play Welder. Oops.

Top Four vs. Bill Sees on Esper Bomberman
Game One: I win the roll and keep a seven of Mountain, Sapphire, Vault, Key, Misstep, Gifts, and Will. I lead with Vault. He contemplates countering it but rightly lets it resolve. He plays Library, immediately draws with it, and plays Pearl. I go for Key to get him off Library for a turn, and he obviously Forces. The next turn or perhaps the following -- there might've been a Walk in there -- I resolve Gifts. After revealing my four cards, the top four starts to discuss a split. I decline and proceed to take all of the turns.
Game Two: I mull to a super-sketchy six with only one land. I FoW his turn one Confidant, Pyroclasm the second, Pyroblast his Tinker (he counters back), and Jace bounce his Blightsteel. After he plays the third Confidant with a Top on board, the only card left in my hand is Will. I have options here, but they're not looking great. I could either Will for Pyroclasm to deal with his Bob, dig with Jace for a potential answer, or bounce his Bob. The latter two options would likely result in me losing Jace. The Magic gods reward me with a topdeck Lava Dart! The rest of the game is anti-climatic because, let's face it, nothing tops a Lava Dart for the win.

Finals vs. Matt Gottshall on Shops (Matt, I read your report, and I don't think your account of our match is accurate.)
Game One: He mulls to six on the play. I keep a seven with Shaman/Welder but no counters. He leads with Factory, Pearl, Crypt, Chalice at... zero (phew), and Thorn. I use Tarn to fetch out the basic Mountain and play Shaman. He plays a Lodestone Golem. I eat his Chalice, play Volcanic, Sapphire, and eat his Pearl. I play the Welder on my following turn and stabilize after I get to untap with it. I toy with him the rest of the game making sure he dies to his own Mana Crypt after I Weld(er) it back in. I beat him down to three with Shaman and keep a Wurmcoil off the table. On his following turn after I ultimate him with Jace, Mana Crypt finally gets there.
Game Two: He keeps a sketchy seven with no threats which was perfect for me and my keep of seven with five lands. Matt plays two Tangle Wires and three Thorns buying him several turns. He finds his first threat in the form of Wurmcoil five? turns in. On my next turn, I finally get to cast something relevant - Trygon Predator. Matt plays a Sphere and swings in putting me to 10 thanks to four fetchlands. I untap, tap a few permanents to Wire, attack with Trygon and mull over my options. Matt comments that I really only have one option. I answer, "Do I?" I destroy the Sphere, play my sixth or seventh land, tap out to Hurkyl's him, play Lotus into Trinket Mage, and get Engineered Explosives. Later, I counter a Metamorph on my Trygon and land a Jace to neutralize his Wurmcoil. I keep him locked down like this until I draw Vault, bounce my Mage finding Key, and take all the turns.

Nice report.  I pegged you for Shops g1 and had a Wasteland in hand, planning to use Thalia to prevent t1 Golem/Batterskull and then Waste a Shop if it appeared and play Bob.  That Mindbreak Trap was harsh cause I could have simply played Pearl, Wasteland, Thalia if I suspected blue.  ooof.  Game two, I opened with Noble Hierarch and then the Tinker was met with T2 Volt Key, Time Walk, and then Time Vault w. mana to untap.  I remember game 3, I played a lot of spells that seemed counterable in succession so by the time I played Batterskull I didn't think you had the Force.

Congrats on the win.

I apologize if I missed things in my report, I have a pretty bad memory about tournaments for some reason. Thank you for giving more detail on our match.

I was pretty pumped that I managed to pull a top 8 in my secon event and that two of my local player Dan and Steve both top 8ed with me. Sorry Kevin :/ also I must say I very much enjoy the community that I have found down there at TPG you guys are all super nice ok used to playing with overly competitive legacy players who start cussing and throwing things when they lose. All of you seem to be more playing for the love of the game more then winning even though winning is nice : )
