Yeah, they'll drop when you don't have to pay scalper prices of packs.

I've played 2 Sealed events and opened a bunch of packs ... and not a single piece Sad. Not sure if the power is really rare or if that's just some crummy variance.

It's really rare. Power is roughly 1 in 53 packs.

I keep getting my ass kicked in these drafts.  But I think I finally have a good deck with 3 dark ritual, 2 cabal rits, 2 tendrils, 2 gush, ivory tower and yawmoth's bargain!

Update:  I won that draft.  the 4 menomic fiends not mentioned were the MVPS.

I've opened 30 packs today, No Power.  So consider yourselves very lucky that you pulled one.  I am still on par with expectations, and need to open 24 more packs before I am underwater.

But i lost my first match to a literal retard because of a Misclick due to my glitchy mouse.  Sad

GOD this interface is AWFUL.

GOt an emerald in Draft.

And my most recent deck would make Smennen proud:

From memory
4 Deep Analysis
3 Frantic Search
2 Brainstorm (1 foil)
2 Obsessive Search
1 High Tide
2 Dark Ritual
1 Cabal Ritual
1 Skirge Familiar
1 Nightscape Familiar
2 Scrivner
1 Tendrils of agony
1 Brain Freeze
1 Temporal Fissure
1 Rescind
2 Lonely Sandbar
1 (Black Cycle Land)
X Swamps/Islands

Turn 6, I brainfreezed my opponent to 0 cards AND Tendrils'ed him to 0 life.

The prices of everything has gotten slaughtered.  The attrition on these packs is really bad, so power might be very rare because people will stop playing.  I don't expect much of a demand after the first couple of weeks because the costs twice as much to draft and seems a lot more variable in strategy.  If you mulligan you get punished.  The cards are not spectacular, it doesn't even have an old feel to it, IMO.

Its a real shame the set didn't include rishidan port, gaea's cradle and wasteland, because the attrition would be a lot lower.  All the rares have sunk to almost nothing (except for bayou, the blue duals, and force), and the mythics are almost all worthless.  6-7 of them are staying at the $10-15 range, but there are 30 of them.  Not good.

This is unfolding even better than I expected.   Prices are slowly falling on everything.

I really hate playing games on my computer, but I am looking forward to battling with teammates and in online tournaments.

I just need to learn the interface and the keys.

So since I have no experience with this sort of thing, about when can we reasonably expect prices on cards from the set to be at it's lowest (or close to lowest) point? I pulled a Ruby and sold it instantly, giving me enough tickets to sit on so I can assemble a complete deck whenever it is the right time to start buying singles.

I'm not a huge fan of the interface and don't expect this to actually replace playing in person, but it seems pretty sweet to be able to play at any time as well!

I maintain my earlier position: Mana Drain and Force of Will's prices haven't budged, but power is dropping like a rock. What's even more interesting is how low Dack Fayden is seeing as he goes in every EDH deck in those colors.

I'll be highly amused if Pearl settles lower than Force of Will. You need 4 Force for Legacy, but only a handful of Vintage decks need a Pearl.

Dack Fayden is low because it isn't that good.  It has zero value in legacy and low value in EDH.  I don't think every deck that is those colors wants it.  I have 3 EDH decks in those colors and I want it in 1 of them in a heavy control deck.

Paper ones are $21 on TCGPlayer.

On pack 35, I finally pulled a Mox Emerald!  I'm starting to get the format.

Franatic Search is the best common in the set.  It goes in UB Storm (which you have to have 2 tendrils of agony or a huge mythic to compete) and UG Madness (probably the best deck if all the commons are there--aquomibia, wild mongrel, circular logic, 4/4 trample wurm, basking rootwalla, and man-o-war.  Thalakos Deveiver at uncommon.

The deck I have had best results with 2 2nd place finishes and a split, is GB reanimator.  Animate Dead, reanimate, krosan tusker, and elvish abberation.  Wild Mongrel and Putrid imp are not necessary for this deck.

My opponenet's best decks so far have been Slight Red Goblins, White Weenie, and an Unbeatable UG Madness deck.

I've been on slide twice now and it reminds me how much I loved that deck.

Can't play again until Thursday, going through withdrawal.

Moronic. The prices are in freefall. Who should buy now? The only thing you should even consider is snagging a playset of FoW.

In fact, I recommend trading your extra power for FoW: that thing the Legacy players also need. Power is going to be dead cheap and Moxen will be less than FoW.

There's no need for that. You could have made your point without the insulting tone. Stop it. I'm not very tolerant of that.

Whenever a set is getting drafted, the value of cards fall as a fade.  People want to keep gambling, so they sell anything to finance the urge to keep playing.  Once the drafts stop, around 6 months later, the prices start going to higher levels.  When they bring back drafts, the same fade happens, and 6 months later the price is back to where it was.

I think the opening prices of Power are spot on where they will be a year from now.  If you want to own them, buy them at their current price.  Just expect volatility.

This is unfolding even better than I expected.   Prices are slowly falling on everything.

Slowly?  This is the most massive price crash I have seen in 5 years of playing MTGO.  Force of Will was 70-100 (depending on version) when it was announced as being in VMA three or four weeks ago.  It's now 20-30.  Insane.  The set isn't even officially released yet in the store.  It's only been 2 days of drafting.  Cards will be worth one price when you start the draft and less when you are done.  I've never seen MTGO move this fast, and it's a really really really liquid market.

For those not familiar with MTGO price trends, lowest prices are usually during the last weekend of release events - so about 2 weeks from now.  Cards will stay low while the set is in print (all summer), but there will be waves of "the set isn't profitable to draft" as prices drop too low.  Then people will buy the singles and prices will creep back up and drafts will fire again, rinse and repeat.

Anyone who has even the slightest interest in Vintage Online should buy in within the next few weeks while prices are rock bottom.

Pearl is at $63; Force is at $31. Remember that demand is highest right now as people buy into MtGO just because Vintage was just added.

I'm amazed that Mana Crypt is so low. There must be a ton already out or EDH verges on unplayable there.

People who played Commander most likely just held on to their Mana Crypt.

By and large, the people who played a lot of Commander/Legacy kept a lot of their stuff (duals, FoWs, etc). I do know a fair amount of Classic players, considering that format was spitting it's last breaths in the wake of Vintage announcements, dumped FoW/Duals/Vamp/Crypt beforehand. However, the Classic community is comparatively SUPER tiny compared to either Legacy or Commander crowds.

I guess I forgot that unlike in cardboard MtG, online players only ever need one Mana Crypt. I own three just so that I didn't have to move them between Vintage/cube/EDH.

So, finally the prices are dropping slower... man this MTGO prices are sick. A friend of mine opened a Time Walk in his first Sealed, checked the price to bei 180 at the bots. After the Event, the best he could get was 140. At the second day, he played another Selaed, opened another Walk (yes, he IS that lucky ^^) and it was sitting at 60 then.

I really was hoping that prices went that low, but I never would have guessed that people are selling so recklessly. After all, MTGO players and to play limited - immediately sell their money cards - play limited again with the tix gained. This is so much different from the paper magic player behavior and market.

Great news for us (who want to play Vintage on MODO) as the price will be low in the next weeks, and hopefully some more people are picking up vintage staples as they cost just a little bit more when they are already buying their legacy cards. I am finally hoping to see a big interest and player base for Vintage once again! Great feeling!
