Why is this man not in the Hall of Fame?  Is the Veteran's Committee seriously that boneheaded?

The man bought the Yankees when they looked more like the current day Astros.  He took a team with no farm, no major league talent, a front office that stunk, and he turned it into, potentially, the most valuable name in any sport.  The Yankees are worth billions because of George Steinbrenner.

And let's not forget the wins.  The Yankees made the World Series in 11 times during his tenure as owner.  11 times!  Many fans consider themselves lucky if they see a great team once in their life.  In New York, we expect it, because George returned the Yankees to their halcyon days of glory and parades.

Finally, let's not forget George the philanthropist.  The man quietly gave away millions of dollars, and he did everything that he could to ensure that it stayed quiet.  Because true charity is not something that you advertise, and George understood that as well.

Put Steinbrenner in the Hall, please, and let's end this farce.
