There have been some strong arguments made by sabermetricians that the 1936 team, which featured a young Joe DiMaggio and a still strong Lou Gehrig was the greatest Yankee team of all time. Others go with the classic response and say that the 1927 team was the best, and it's tough to argue with picking Babe Ruth and Murderer's Row. Many fans of Gen Y will pick the 1998 team, as the fond memories of that Yankee team's dominance still burn bright. The magic of Mantle and Maris was strong, but do they have the best claim to the title? What about the 1932 team?
I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Gotta be the M & M brothers. Summer of '61, baby.
'98 Yankees are a close second... but I still like the 96 ring more.

That '98 team was unreal. I doubt I'll ever see a better team than that one. Still, I voted for the '27 team because how could you possibly not vote for Ruth and Gehrig?

I didn't see an option to vote for the 2004 team. Greatest CHOKE JOB of all time.
Full warning for baiting and flaming. If you'd like to keep your position on the staff, I suggest getting in line.

If only there was one of him holding a clutch. Would've been the pun of the century.

It's close. It's a few years before my time, but I've read great things about the 1966 squad. The best Yankee team of my lifetime has to be that scrappy 1990 squad, shepherded initially by the great Bucky Dent, then by the immortal Stump Merrill after Bucky could no longer handle all the awesomeness.

Mantle & Maris > Ruth and Gehrig. There. I said it.
Mantle & Maris weren't even the greatest M & M boys, let alone better than Ruth and Gehrig.

So, your favorite member of the Yankees and your least favorite member of the Red Sox are playing the finals at Vintage Champs.
The Yankee member is playing Oath of Druids. The Red Sox member is playing Workshops.
Who do you root for, Mr. Prospero? Who do you root for?
