Also, a ten round tournament starting at 830pm is kind of unappealing.

Have any "premiere" vintage events fired?  I'm considering building one into my calendar.

No. Biggest drawback is 33 person requirement imo, I'd imagine the only way to get one to fire would be gathering the players beforehand.

The problem with this is we are seeing upto 30 people in the 6:30 Vintage DE. To get the PE to fire would likley involve a good proportion of those in the preceding DE to join the PE and double queue for 1.5 rounds.
That is the only way I forsee the PE firing unless WOTC changes the time for the event. So if the guys in the DE don't mind double queueing I see this as the best option to get enough for a PE. The payouts are ++ solid.
Love to get this going though. I will be in queue this weekend.

Good point that slipped my mind. This is also a big problem.

Zherbus and I are thinking about trying to organize it for Sunday, July 13th, at 5:30 PM (PDT).  Will keep folks posted.

3-1'd my first daily. The meta I got from social feedback was way different than that of the event and the passed top finishers. It was purported to be a bunch of Stax, Dredge, and some Oath. I played Oath in 2/4 rounds and Show and Tell in 3/4. That said, the top finishers seem to be on Martello, UR(g) Pyro, Oath, or BUG Control. Dredge and Rods are sprinkled in there with a few other interesting things, but to me this just shows that Data > Feel and that this meta is converging to the paper meta pretty quickly.

I'd also like to thank Steve for archiving this data for us. It's nice to just be able to click it.

Thanks man.  I'm really looking forward to playing in some dailies.   I don't have a block of time to play in any if the pre-scheduled DEs, but I have played in roughly 15 2-person queues going X-1 over the last four nights, turning VMA boosters into tickets.

I faced pretty much everything TPS, BUG, Burning Tendrils (very badly piloted), multiple Mud variants (someone was playing a red splash last night), Dredge, Oath, and I took three straight matches and tickets from someone playing a Dack Fayden Dragon deck lol.  He kept jumping in the queue, and I kept going in after him.

I discovered that magic online records and stores all the games I played for fun (including an awesome match with Marc Lanigra a few nights ago), but I can't find any recordings for replay of my Vintage queued events.

Yeah, I hear you.  The problem is that I can't likely get away with playing on a saturday night, nor can many other folks I know.  We'll see.

Most of the live events run on Saturday, and the entire NE corridor is playing almost every weekend.

My gf ruled out today and next Saturday for me.  Friday and Saturday evenings are not likely ever to work for me.  Weekdays are out as well because I don't usually get home until after 7.   I'm planning to play in tomorrow's daily at 6:30 pacific.  I'm going to try to make that regularly.

I played in my first Daily -- it was extremely fun, but in my second match, my opponent hardcasts a Blightsteel Colossus.  I had Force, Force, Misd, 2 other blue spells, and a Flusterstorm in hand, and he had like 5 other cards.

I played Force, and he Forced, I played Misdirection, and he Forced, rather than play my last Force, I played Flusterstorm, and I wanted to split the Flusterstorm between his first Force and his last in case he had a Drain up (he had 2 mana up).   I put the first three Flusterstorm copies on the second Force, and highlighted his first Force for the other three copies, but it ended up countering my Misdirection!  I'm not sure if the stack was too scrunched up, but I had that match in the bag.  Horribly frustrating.

Still, I had great fun and ended up 3-1.

I have this same problem with Mindbreak Trap. Can anybody explain the correct way to cast these spells on modo and how to know which spells you've already clicked on? (It's actually really unclear which you've already selected)

Stephen, were you playing with the beta or not?
With the old client there were no problem.

I saw you in the DE but we didnt play each other. I was playing UR standstill (Shockwave list),
played 2 shops and 2 blue decks. Only 2-2 but it was fun. A lot of good player. And it s no more like the beginning with only merfolk and dredge. I feel every player had their decks optimized.

Maybe it was just my pairings, but I faced Dredge in 3 of the 4 rounds.  Dredge won with the only 4-0, and had multiple 3-1's.  Word to the wise...don't start skimping on that Dredge hate just yet.

It was the beta client. I was on Skype with him when it happened and feel a little guilty about it myself. We tried to be careful about how to spread out the flusterstorm triggers. He was clearly clicking on a spot that had his opponents Force of Will shrouded in a red glow. This lead all of us into believing he had selected the right target. It was mind-blowing that we all got it wrong, but I guess at least now we know going forward.

I haven't tested nearly enough on the new client, and I should.

I don't get the reasoning to split the fluster that way.  He can just drain your force after flusterstorm anyway if both his forces are countered.  If you put them all on his second force, you give him the opportunity to screw up and drain back your original force rather than the misdirection.

This is pretty significant in the beta, actually. I remember getting confused with Genesis Wave and ended up dumping 12 permanents in the graveyard that could have come into play. Fortunately they are being pretty responsive to feedback about problems. It was also difficult earlier to figure out which spell was being countered on the stack, but they have since added arrows.

It seems like the website linked only captures the later of the two vintage daily events.  Does anyone know where I can get results from both events?

no. there's no easy way to do it. the website only records the event that fires with the most # of players, random if tied. I have asked lee from wotc on twitter for some results before, but besides that I know no way to get the results.

this is a big reason why the stats are skewed on mtg goldfish and other sites ( maybe not by a huge margin, but definitely not 100% accurate as is. )

Ah ok.  thanks for the info.  That is a really terrible system, that could very easily be remedied, but oh well.

There are bot scrapping programs that watch replays and record stats. This is how sites like mtggoldfish get their limited event data

http://www.mtggoldfish.com/limited/analysis/draft/vma_vma_vma

My friend who is a lot more into statistics than I am, had access to the Modern bot scrapping data, something like 4,000 matches. And he compared it to the data that Wizard's gives out and he said that he was content with the margin of error and that the Wizard's data was fairly accurate of the Modern metagame.

I contacted this gentleman a year ago for it his Modern mtgo data:

mtgratingtester at gmail dot com

I'm not sure if he still does this.

He goes by the name Rolle.

No, although you can change the colour of the text until it can't easily be seen without highlighting it. Beige is a good one for that.
