I will check the event calender later, but is there not one on saturday at all? I feel like people can make adjustments earlier on the weekend a lot easier than sunday night! Either way I plan to be there for the next one, whenever it is.

Saturday night is tough to make as most of the high end tournaments are on Saturday.

I hope decklists and tournament reports come out of this. I'm really excited to see a new control slaver list!

Happy to share it, Marc.  I've been playing it with slight tweaks for the past week and change, and I've had a lot of success in the dailies with it.  Forgive me as I'm typing it up from memory and the version I played last night may be slightly different:

Kowal NWCS

2 Goblin Welder
2 Dack Fayden
2 Baleful Strix
1 Mindslaver
1 Myr Battlesphere

4 Force of Will
3 Mana Drain
2 Duress
1 Mental Misstep
1 Spell Pierce

4 Night's Whisper
1 Yawgmoth's Will
1 Ancestral Recall
1 Thirst for Knowledge
1 Time Walk
1 Tinker
1 Mystical Tutor
1 Vampiric Tutor
1 Demonic Tutor
1 Fact or Fiction
1 Gifts Ungiven
1 Merchant Scroll
1 Brainstorm
1 Ponder
1 Fire/Ice

1 Black Lotus
1 Sol Ring
1 Mana Crypt
1 Mana Vault
1 Mox Sapphire
1 Mox Jet
1 Mox Ruby
1 Mox Emerald
1 Mox Pearl

1 Library of Alexandria
1 Tolarian Academy
1 Strip Mine
4 Scalding Tarn
1 Misty Rainforest
3 Underground Sea
2 Volcanic Island
1 Island

SB:
1 Flusterstorm
1 Darkblast
1 Mountain
2 Yixlid Jailer
2 Massacre
2 Red Elemental Blast
3 Ingot Chewer
3 Grafdigger's Cage

Also apologies to jsiri for getting the deck type wrong.  I saw Bayou and Plains and two dudes of creature type Human before I got smoked, so I just kind of assumed.  Shame on me for assuming!  I was thinking about it on the way in to work this morning - Humans doesn't generally run Jace, but it was Jace who took the boots to me in both games.

Hey, peoples! This is my first post (I believe) so forgive me if I missed something obvious, but I've seen a few people saying they streamed the event, and what with it starting at around one or two in the morning over here in England, I was wondering if anyone had a link to either their stream from last night (yesterday? Whatever) or a video uploaded somewhere of their event. Preferably something like Pyro/Gush, or a hardcore combo deck. I did see someone battling with UR Landstill, but then I noticed it was 2:30, and I've no idea who it was. Thanks!

I went 3-3, but had a good time! Smile Screen-name of "Reeniee" if any of you happened to play me along the way.

Thanks for the push to get this happening. If they keep with the same schedule then all the premier events start at 1:30am my time, so can't see playing too many more, but it was fun to be part of the first one ever! Smile

The problem with Sundays is that for those of us in EU, Eastern/Central timezones, it severely conflicts with sleep for the 9-5'ers. A 6 round event with Top 8 will likely end around 2-3 am for people like myself. It's simply unreasonable to expect these to fire regularly at the current time they are offered, at least for Sundays... Saturdays may be different. They need to start in the morning or late afternoon at the latest. 8:30pm on the East Coast is far too late for anyone with a real job (of which I am not currently, so I'm not speaking for myself here).

They should really vary the starting times. There are players spread out across all of the time zones and having it at 10:30am tournament on a Monday morning isn't great for us Australians either.

Kowal, that NWCS list looks amazing. I can't wait to try it out myself. I bought a set of Welders and of course a set of Night's Whispers.

Folks should let Wizards know that they'd like earlier times.

On twitter, I asked Lee Sharpe to consider additional PE starting times.

It would be helpful if folks who couldn't make the event last night could contact him or other relevant wizards employees and let them know why.

Lee asked:

@SMenendian We are always monitoring the schedule to find improvementss. Specific feedback as to why a change would be good helps!

What do folks think?

You should definitely make a new thread, Steve. And don't make it a "what do you guys think" thread.  You're the leader and you've got to take charge

Steve, you might want to consider aligning with whomever runs the PREs, for the purpose of running a Vintage event that fits for everyone. It shouldn't be difficult to have one start at a reasonable time on a Saturday or Sunday. Just a thought.

what are PREs?

If you mean who schedules the premiere events, I asked them to offer more times on twitter.

I don't know anything about that.  How do players run events?

Basically, an independent TO organizes the event and the players gather in one of the casual game rooms. When the pairings are posted (on the PRE website), one player creates the game (with specific game settings) and then the other joins. After the match, both players confirm the results via the PRE website.

I've played in one before and it ran pretty smooth, although it was only 15ish players.

See this event for more information: http://blippytheslug.wordpress.com/2014/07/11/bad-moon-rising-2/
