Display of Dominance 1G Instant Choose one - -Destroy target blue or black noncreature permanent. -Permanents you control can't be the targets of blue of black spells your opponents control this turn. ------------------------------------------------------- Hum... a green Active Volcano. Does green have better ways of dealing with blue/black planeswalkers (that don't involve attacking)? I think this is something that could see fringe sideboard play, depending on what you want. I know it's digging a lot to actually highlight this here, but I don't know, this is a novel effect. It can duplicate as bounce protection if you need. If the second effect said your permanents couldn't be target of blue/black spells and abilities, this would be way better to prevent a Jace bounce or a Dack steal. I can't think right now of relevant black permanents to destroy...

This counters abrupt decay, dismember and some blue bounce spells, and destroys Jace/Dack. I don't think there is another spell in magic that does all of this for 1G? It seems a little limited though in what its capable of doing, and doesn't really have blowout potential. So I can't see this as playable.

I would much rather run ReB/pyro and StP. Except this wont get hit by mental misstep. Otherwise, not attractive. Nobody will run this.

This caught my eye initially, but I don't think it has a home anywhere.
I can maybe see some cute interactions with painter's servant . . . but blasts pretty much accomplish everything that this card would try to do, but better.

The effect is fine, cost is fine, it's just narrow. Add it to the list of cards that will pop up in sideboards in the next five years when some deck that it is very good against comes into fashion. I can't see it in Vintage, but sure, it'll be a feature article on some Legacy tournament someday.

This card strikes me as weird from a color pie perspective. Does green, in recent sets, disrupt black?

In Torment, Green creatures tended to have pro Black. Great Stable Stag, Choke. Fairly present anti black/blue theme

Um...they've been enemies since Alpha! Lifeforce! New colour hoser cycle seems interesting. Narrow, but this one has niche appeal.

Yeah - protection and life force type cards are one thing, but I don't recall explicitly disruptive effects at instant speed like this targeting black in green before. Blue, yes, but black seems more unusual.

Blue, yes, but black seems more unusual. It is a pretty novel effect, hence the discussion. But yes, green is more known to have hate in the form of permanents, but there was a few instants here and there that did "hate" on these colors, like Seedtime and the good old Reap. I'm really glad to have some hosers come back actually, it seems there wasn't much for a while other than "protection from".

Green has had Destroy effects in the past in desert twister and the like, and it has had hexproof/creature protection abilities in the past as well in things like Avoid Fate. Hating on Blue and Black as always been in its color pie, even if WotC has laid off that as of recently. All of these things together on one card is basically new, but none are new to green.

If you don't run red, you can't run Pyro. This can be a substitute for that eventually. I agree with Steve, this effect sound so... Arabian Nights and alike. I mean, those times when the colors did something they don't always should do. Thought this should be singled out, even if for having a mental note that now green has a card that destroys Jace at instant speed. Really good art though, not even sure whats happening here.
I think this set has a lot of good arts, like I never noticed before. Anafenza and Dragon Whisperer come to mind

The effect caught my eye but the number of targets for this is really just too narrow for the card to be seriously considered. There's Jace and Dack, of course, but outside random Back to Basics etc. that's about it.
