Hi guys,

Today I looked at a list from the recent GP Melbourne which is a real blast from the past.

Updated for the new metagame but does it have what it takes to compete today?

For those who were not playing at the time, Gush in mid 2011 was a monolithic institution. There was ‘a’ Gush list with and the decklists rarely varied by more than a few cards.  The idea was to abuse the GushBond engine to deliver a lethal Tendrils of Agony or Tinker into the newly printed Blighsteel Colossus. It was even powerful enough for Rich Shay to pilot his version through the Swiss portion of the Vintage World Championship undefeated.

I'm sure you've seen it, but there is a thread for East Coast Wins still here and these lists are very similar to what they ran back then.

It feels weird that neither deck has Yawgmoth's Will in it.

You are 100% correct. East coast wins was Shawn Anthony's baby for quite a while.  It was the most common of the Gush builds mentioned in the earlier paragraph. If I were doing a more in depth review I would have provided a link to the thread.

My Apologies. The second lists did indeed run Yawgmoth's. it simply was not copied over correctly. this has been fixed.
