If you don't play FoW your odds of winnings against Flash deminish quite fast... you're quite likely to lose because most permanents you can play on your first turn don't really matter to the Flash player. Actually your argument applies to a lot of plays. What if your opponent plays Turn1 Necro? Turn1 Ancestral? Turn1 Orchard Mox Oath? Or Shop 3sphere?
Did you notice how most of the cards you've mentioned are restricted, and Flash is not? Also, did you take into consideration that while the cards you've mentioned are powerful spells, that they do not immediately win you the game once they've resolved? The point I was making is in response to nicofromtokyo were I'm trying to explain that against some plays you'll just lose (or you're very likely to lose) the game if you don't play FoW's. I actually agree with the other paragraphs in your post and your other posts regarding this topic. The Flash combo is stupid, quite as stupid as first turn Necro's. To add an argument to your Ritual + Necro = Flash + Hulk, did you consider you can even protect the Flash combo with a Pact of Negation.....

Is Flash really as good as it seems? Flash is only good against people who don't know how to mulligan/play. According you don't play FoW (well, it happens), what are you supposed to do when you don't play first? If you don't play FoW your odds of winnings against Flash deminish quite fast... you're quite likely to lose because most permanents you can play on your first turn don't really matter to the Flash player. Actually your argument applies to a lot of plays. What if your opponent plays Turn1 Necro? Turn1 Ancestral? Turn1 Orchard Mox Oath? Or Shop 3sphere? I played a Flash deck in multiple tournaments and won a lot of games because people kept hands with general good cards that don't matter in the matchup. For example, a Stax player kept a hand with a tangle wire and welder and no spheres. A GAT player kept a hand on the draw without a counter but with a duress. Obviously my brainstorm made his duress useless and I won.

You guys are missing the point. Ponder lets you see up to 4 cards for 1 mana. Scroll -> Ancestral lets you see 3 cards for 1UU. When you're looking for bombs and trying to race an opponent, the expediency of saving 2 mana is HUGE. In a storm deck you don't want to spend your first 3 mana finding Ancestral and casting it, especially if you are just going to ditch those cards in a draw 7 hand or see infinity more cards in Necropotence.
As far as I tested Ponder (maybe about 30 games online) it turned out to be huge. Everything Kobefan said about it is totally right, I can't even think of playing less than 4.

Top 8 vs Flash 1st match i get triple duress in the first few turns, discarding most of his key cards. 2nd match i mull to 6 and keep a mediocre hand, he combos me out on turn 2 with no resistance. 3rd match was a bit like the first match but he keeps a hand with 4 mana (1 is a lotus) summoners pact and hulk, i thoughtseize him twice and he proceeds to draw nothing at all allowing my tarmogoyfs to finish him. I honestly still don't understand why I lost that match. The only cards that really affect the game from you side are the Duress/Thoughseize and game 1 StP's. G1 was just too much but for instance, game 3 took quite a while. At some point I was 1 mana short of hardcasting a hulk which would have won me the game assuming you boarded out the StP's. At some point I could have drawn like, 15 cards that would have won me the game but I didn't, guess that's part of the game. Problem with the 7 Duress package is that I'm not worried about you stripping my hand since I can get something good of the top and still win. I also doubt if Teeg is that good, how did it work for you?

Time to say something really stupid, here goes: I guess one of the most practical ways to own a monstertruck is to put it upside down isn't it? So why don't you give it a morph ability and some kind of drawback that makes you turn it face down when it is destroyed etc.?

The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift- An amazing insight into Japanese youth culture, approached with the wide-eyed wonderment that all Americans would show if they were in Tokyo. Excellent plot, groundbreaking acting and the sets and scenery was impressive.
You're serious? I thought it was terrible compaired to F&TF and 2F2F. The cars are alright but the girls aren't and I think the accent of the main character is just horrible! I just don't like it... and I didn't even mention that lame appearance Vin Diesel made I enjoyed P1rates Ninja's of the Caribbean, Casino Royal and Babel in no particular order.

My opponents made the worst plays ever when I had multiple Triskelions in play... Sometimes the computer seems to protect his lifetotal in the most stupid ways :X
I actually like the fact that you can get a creature in play at the start of a duel in a dungeon, I build a reanimator deck with Bazaars so I got random Shivan Dragons / Mahamothi etc. Nice move!
Question: Is mana crypt in this game?

I have two moxes (ruby and jet) and one contract in a B/r deck - hyppies and burn and a sengir, mostly.
That actually worked out quite well for me. I used a similar type of deck with Ivory Tower and land destruction, when you're in a dungeon you can just infinitly up your lifetotal (well... sort of) because they have no manasources (except for some of the Dragons but those are al totally pathetic). Winning one match that way is a GG for the whole dungeon. You should check if Power Struggle starts in play though and add REB's if it is. I now have 3 decks, the 4contract.B/r.landdestruction.dec (hell yeah!), a shop deck that copies fatties and a Bazaar reanimator deck with Trisk, Mahamothi Djinn and Shivan Dragons. Especially the last one totally rocks. I really recommand making something like that Bazaar deck because it's very cool to play

Shandalar crashes as soon as I want to edit my deck... do you guys have any idea how to overcome this?
I solved it by lowering my resolution to 800*600 Anyway, is Nether Void in this game, I couldn't find it so far... is it in a dungeon? The game has some weird bugs though, I got a maindeck Elvish Archer which I don't even own (but I did cast it with a Lotus ). Also, my opponent killed his own creatures several times and I got two Loti eventhough I only own one.

Did you ever consider a more enchantment heavy build with something like In The Eye and Chokes? A combination of good enchantments and artifacts are harder to bounce or even destroy. I think the main problem with Stax is that a lot of decks can sweep your board EOT and then just combo off, maybe the suggested approach with more enchantments is an idea?

Necropotence: I don't need it. If i have mana for it, I usually have mana for Rector too, and with Rector I can get Bargain, which is better. I also need more than 7 cards for win, so I would be forced to keep either Will or Demonic Tutor.
I think this is a mistake. You should play Necro because you can drop it turn 1 off a ritual, draw a boatload of cards, Tendrils your opponent out or semi-out and Necro again for the same trick. You can play necro on turn 1 quite often, this can't be said for Rector. Besides, you need a therapy to kill your rector. Also, where's mana crypt? If you really want to play budget combo, maybe some kind of oath-based combo deck is a good solution. Oath + Eternal Witness for Yawgmoth's will and Tendrils off. This also gives you a good strategie vs. random aggro decks if you play a MD DSC with 4 oaths and a tinker.

I would strongly consider a mulligan since right now, you're only able to cast something with the Ritual. If you don't draw some kind of mana source this hand will make you lose.
Considering the fact that you keep this hand, the only proper play seems to be the Brainstorm. -If you're playing against a FoW and/or Drainsbased deck you can ritual out a tutor. If it resolves you're in for some business (get lotus pass, BBBB cabal for BBBBB, tutor Necro with FoW backup. If your Lotus doesn't resolve, you must brainstorm during your 2nd turn in order to get 2 mana if you don't draw a mana source. If this happens, your opponent will get UU up and the FoW because less powerful since you must draw a blue card out of the brainstorm or your topdecks. The more mana you get in this scenario, the more options you have. If the first ritual doesn't work out properly you lose a lot of tempo depending on your topdecks.
If you're playing against Stax you can't lotus>cabal out the Necro if they manage to draw one of the five strip effects or a cost increaser so digging for mana sources also seems like the only good option to me.
There a just so many scenarios in which you will lose if you don't get more mana, the brainstorm (or a mulligan) would be my play.

Holland just played terrible, van Bommel should have scored right in the first minute instead of missing such and chance (we lack somebody like Deco or Requilme, I'm sure they don't miss chances like that). Also, Kuyt should have scored the one-on-one chance with the keeper, Cocu missed a chance that was like... 3 meter away from the goal, instead of scoring he hits the crossbar . Holland just lacks the skill to play on a topclass level. We also lack 'smart' players like Figo. Also, all the Dutch complaining about the referee is just BS. The Portuguese squad got more cards and play with less persons overall (11 vs. 10 and 10 vs. 9). We should start admitting it's right that we're out. Anyway, let's hope Guus Hiddink goes on the stunting-tour to save the day for us Dutchies!

We (the Netherlands) won't make it that far I guess... We always suck at the actual tournaments. I think the proper question is: who is going to beat Brasil? The only fair answer would be Italy imo. Other teams are just too bad and can only beat Brasil if Brasil itself plays awful. So, my money is on Brasil, if they don't win Italy will.
But hey, strange things can happen eh? Look at the European 2004 Championships were Greece won, go random crap teams!!!
