The premium accounts struck a bad chord with me when SCG's cancelled the live updates during the power tournaments. This is why I did not renew my account in Feb. SCG spent so much time stressing the fact that you would get live updates from the tournaments that a lot of people joined for this purpose alone. That was the only reason why I got a premium account.
The articles were OK... They were probably some of the best quality articles on the net, but I found that A LOT of the articles didn't deserve to be Premium. It seems like it was stuck there to fill an empty gap. That's fine now and then, but near the end, good articles were far and few between.
It's 30 dollars for the subcription. In my opinion, I had better things to spend my 30 dollars on. (Please don't tell me how to spend my money. I tried it, didn't enjoy it, felt ripped off, didn't renew.)
But I think people should judge for themselves. Look at the old premium articles and judge for yourself.

That was actually a joke. As far as I know the site is just down; most likely a fucked server or something. Apparently, it really was supposed to be a joke. My apologies for not being more skeptical of this information. Apparently we've all been fooled! Happy Be-lated or early April Fools??!?!?!?! Erm, well ... this post was just stupid, but I'm glad I got it cleared up!

Narnia is just out in England, I went last night. I thought that there were only two real problems with the film:
1. Too many cliches. Way, way too many cliches. Whenever the kids were about to do something, there'd always be some irritating little cliche thrown in just before they go and do it.
Which leads me nicely on to point 2: Am I the only one who found Lucy's character incredibly annoying? In the book I thought she was quite sweet in her own way, but in the film she (and Edmund, to some extent) really pissed me off.
Other than that, though, the film is excellent - as Klep said, the narrative is flawless, and some of the voices are very entertaining (and Jadis is pretty damn scary at times, too). And although the lion CGI is a bit dodgy at times, this is more than offset by having Liam Neeson in it - and that's the only dodgy bit.
Overall, I would definitely say you should go and see it. Have you ever watched the TV series? I thought Georgie Henley (who played Lucy in the movie) did a spectacular job. If you ever watched the TV Series, you wouldn't like Sophie Wilcox (Lucy) much. I found her a bit annoying. I thought this was an excellent movie, and the CGI was amazing. Throughtout the movie I found myself getting really mad at Edmund Pevensie. lol Pride and Prejudice was a fairly good movie too ... It had a certain wit to it, Mr. Bennet, and Elizabeth were extremely funny. I never read the book, nor did I see the TV series, but my fiance said the movie was done close to the book (according to her). Serenity was not disappointing. It was a very good movie, and it was nice to actually get to know the Characters a little better (because I didn't feel that FireFly was long enough to get to know all the characters).

What lock? Everyone here keeps talking about a lock ... I'm confused, as I didn't intend on there being a "lock" ... The idea of Uba Mask is for the Slyvan Library ...getting to play 3+ cards a turn is pretty cool ... Plus most blue decks don't enjoy Uba Mask (and yes, Uba Mask does hurt Gifts). I've editted my orignal post to add the more update decklist I've been farting around with, as most of the people here have only been reading what's been in the first post (not all of you, but some of you). I did not want to resort to playing Mogrel, and Rootwalla, but I will try and do up a decklist later which will include most of the suggestions made, as they are very good suggestions, and I know it will help the deck a great deal, but it will go into a completely different direction (It will change the deck completely) I know I posted here asking for opinions/help but I just wanted to make a mono-green beat down deck that allowed me to compete somewhat (if I get the cards I need) while having a great deal of fun ... If I wanted to win, I'd play UbaStax/Gifts/Oath or another well defined deck ... I'm not out to prove anything with this deck ...I'd really like to know how many of you actually playtested the deck, or did you just comment on it by looking at it? (A Very Serious Question) The reason Stax is good is because it can plop a Crucible/Tangle Wire/Sphere/Stack on the board on turn 1. You have no such ability, so your "lock" is about 30 times weaker. You also don't have Welders, so even if you do manage a Uba Mask "lock", it's not really a lock. I'd suggest dropping your weak lock components and go for the fast rush. Btw, a mono-green aggro deck has existed for a while now. It runs 9 lands and a bunch fo Hiddens and efficient creatures. It's been said before in this thread, but I'll reiterate: 4 mana spells in Vintage must be absolutely game winning effects: Fact or Fiction, Gifts Ungiven, Smokestack, etc. You can't afford to spend 4 mana on a 4/4. Try spending 1 mana on a 5/3, and you'll be much happier Are you another one of those posters just looking to prove themselves to get a TMD membership? This deck isn't stax, this deck doesn't have a lock component, thanks for the history lesson on mono-green aggro, and thank you for reiterating ... Plus let me apologize for my sarcasm, I just hate arrogance ...

Perhaps the use of Root Maze would improve goblins ... This list is really off the top of my head ... we've had people play similar decks at local tournaments, and Root Maze has proved to be pretty good ..
4x Goblin Lackey 4x Goblin Warchief 4x Goblin Matron 4x Goblin Piledriver 4x Goblin Ringleader 3x Goblin Recruiter 2x Skirk Prospector 1x Goblin Sharpshooter 1x Siege-Gang Commander 1x Gempalm Incinerator 1x Goblin Welder 1x Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker
4x Root Maze 3x Red Elemental Blast
1x Strip Mine 3x Wasteland 3x Mountain 4x Taiga 4x Karplusan Forest 2x Elvish Spirit Guide 1x Black Lotus 1x Lotus Petal 1x Mox Ruby 1x Mox Emerald 1x Sol Ring 1x Mana Crypt
Sideboard Possibilities ... Chalice Of The Void Null Rod Pyroblast Artifact Mutation Gempalm Incenerator Naturalize Goblin King

I know a lot of people are going to h8 on me for saying this, but I honestly see vintage on a serious decline. Prices are sloping down for many reasons (the two biggest I can think of being WoW and Legacy pulling people away) and I don't think they're going to come back any time soon.
I already sold my drains/power/library/bazaars, and every time I think about it, I'm pleased.
Cash out while your cash is worth something.
I somewhat agree ... I've been considering cashing out for awhile ... A lot of local players have just quit cold turkey, but the prices on ebay seem to be pretty constant besides the Black Lotus ...

This deck keeps getting progressively worst! I really do like the splash of white ... I'll be considering it for future versions ... Mono-GreenMaindeck (60)(18)4x Sylvan Library 4x Uba Mask 3x Root Maze 3x Naturalize 4x Chalice of the Void (20)4x Elvish Spirit Guide 4x Llanowar Elf 4x Ravenous Baloth 3x Iwamori of the Open Fist 3x Veridian Zealot 2x Eternal Witness (22)1x Black Lotus 1x Mox Emerald 4x Wasteland 1x Strip mine 3x Ancient Tomb 8x Forest 4x Windswept Heath Sideboard (15)4x Oxidize 3x Null Rod 3x Ground Seal 3x Tormod's Crypt 1x Naturalize 1x Viridian Zealot EDIT: 3 Sylvan Ls is way too much. After you repeatedly draw two in your opening hand, you'll keep swearing.
Hate to tell you but they are the only thing keeping this deck remotely fun to play ...

On a tangent, you can add illusionary mask/dreadnaughts to the deck and cast all your dudes at 2 to confuse opponents and win randomly like that Stop bringing the deck to ridiculous levels! Another thing to consider could be the addition of survival and null rod. With the removal of Uba mask you can gain the advantage of creature choice. Add in Squee Utabi Ourangatang Anger A nice fattie creature as a finisher
Null rod also stops the opponent from getting a speed advantage.
Uba Mask + Sylvan Library ... Plus the fact Uba Mask is usually really bad for your opponent, if I ever get it to resolve!

I think a lot of you are missing something on the Black Vise topic ... You know, once someone mentions "STAX" ... they don't necessarily mean "Uba Mask" ... they could be talking about the deck that runs 4x Tangle Wire's, and 3-4x Sphere of Resistance?? ... I think if you were to run 4x Black Vise in this sort of prison deck ... then it would be a lot better ...

You aren't the first to say this ... i've had players lose their cards, not be able to activate their cards, etc ... I think Wizards has to get on the ball, and get a new website up for their DCI card holders ... Like as soon as you login, tell you if you are qualified for the rewards program, how many tournaments count towards this months/years batch, etc ... I don't like their website now ... I think its unattractive ... lol yes I used the word unattractive to describe a non-pornographic website!

What kind of decks are you expecting to play? This would make it alot easier for anyone to make reccomendations for improvement... Stax UbaStax TPS WW (yes, white weenie with a lot of changes) Madness Gifts Control Slaver Oath The usual I guess? Being that you have to play dudes to be effective ( for the most part) you need to realise you are waiting a turn to use most of your cards. This means your deck is effectivly slower than most vintage decks, that win using spells instead of creatures. So your goal is to be able to survive long enough to kill them, just like a fish deck.
How does fish stall ? counter magic and mana denial.Your deck has some aspects of each of those in it, but having null rod/root maze maindeck would really push the bill, also sphere of resistance would be good.
As for the sideboard, youve got chokes, seedtime( its kinda bad but surprisingly good), city of solitude and carpet of flowers as solid anti blue cards. Scavanger folk or uktabi orangutans can help vs stax, as can life from the loam to some extent. Tormods crypt can be your anti yawg will will pwn me card.elephant grass handles creature decks sometimes, as does umezawas jittie.
Also I would probably change up the naturalize MD for oxidize, unless you see a larger amount of enchantments, mainly because it does cost 1 less.
Ok, I'm not trying to be sarcastic, but thanks for the history lesson. (I do realize there isn't much more than a 1cc Elf drop, and a Chalice for 0 on the first turn, unless I draw a Lotus/Mox). Perhaps ESG's might be really good maindeck, I will test them. You did give me some really good options as sideboard cards though ... As for dropping Naturalize for Oxidize. I don't think I want to ... It's bad enough that the deck has a rough time against Oath with the Zealots/Naturalize's maindeck ... (Oath is fairly popular these days) ... I see no reason why you aren't running 4 Seedtime maindeck. I see nothing wrong with having 3 more timewalks then your opponent. I would also consider running Tangelwire and Rootmaze main as both will slow them down a bit so you can get the drop on them with a big slugger.
I don't overly agree with Seedtime being maindeck, or sideboarded. However, Tanglewire and/or Rootmaze main could be a fairly good option ... Could you possibily explain to me why you believe Seedtime is so good? Any good player would start to play around them ... EDIT: (I'm yet to test this, I will have to do it tommorow sometime, I don't know if I made it worst! And maybe fetchlands shouldn't be in there now considering I'm running Root Maze maindeck) Mono-GreenMaindeck (60)(18)3x Sylvan Library 3x Uba Mask 3x Root Maze 2x Abundance 3x Naturalize 4x Chalice of the Void (21)4x Elvish Spirit Guide 4x Llanowar Elf 4x Ravenous Baloth 3x Iwamori of the Open Fist 3x Veridian Zealot 3x Eternal Witness (21)1x Black Lotus 1x Mox Emerald 4x Wasteland 1x Strip mine 2x Treetop Village 8x Forest 4x Windswept Heath

why not run skullclamp as a draw engine and a way to pump your bigger creatures?
Skullclamp doesn't really come into the game plan of the deck ... I don't think outdrawing my opponent should be the game plan when playing a Mono-Green deck, I think it should be to disrupt enough to beat them down with some creatures ... Plus it would really end up slowing down the deck ... However, your comment did make me think that I should probably get rid of a land and add in an extra Sylvan Library just for draw ... Also, that I "should" consider running Root Maze in the sideboard ...

This might be posted in the "Vintage Improvement Forum" ... but I've very serious about improving it ... This is just a little deck my friend and I use to play around with. I never played it in a tournament, but he did and had a pretty good time with it (I believe he took 1st in one tournament, lol) ...

Possible targets for restriction: Shop Drain Welder Gifts Grim Tutor Thirst Chalice I never considered Thirt for Knowledge, or Chalice of the Void before ... I could see Chalice of the Void getting restricted based on the "fun" factor alone ... sorta how Trinisphere got the axe ... The card is slowly finding it's way into a lot of the top decks ... But, I can't see it getting the chop ... Thirst for Knowledge, I don't believe this will be restricted ... there are other cards which could be just as effective ... Gifts Ungiven is a lot better than Fact or Fiction ... I never really thought of it that way either, perhaps it will get the axe? or maybe Fact or Fiction will get Unrestricted? Grim Tutor ... yes ... The popularity of Goblin Welder has seemed to died down a little ... what I mean by this is that the numbers are still up (not as high), but the outrage has seemed to die down about them ... Perhaps Pithing Needle helped a little? I dunno? If they ever decide to restrict Mana Drain, or Mishra's Workshop's, I really hope that they give us (the community) a little warning ... if not, then it could prove fatal to the format ... I know a lot of people who only play because they own these cards, and have grown to love them ... Oh, PS ... Type 1 Yawgmoth's Will ... BANNED! tee hee hee *Please don't make this into an arguement, but I wouldn't cry if it got banned ...also you would see some ultimate changes in certain decks ...*
