It shuts down all major strategies in vintage..from tinker, to yawmoths will, oath, etc. Thats why i thought it would be better as a maindeck card that locks the game down, much like null rod or chalice for example.

I am wondering why there isnt any grafdiggers cage in the past few lists maindeck? That card does so much vs most of the field..wouldn't it just be better in the main?

One thing you might consider: it may be useful to find a different way to organize the information so that it is more accessible to players who are building a specific deck. For instance, instead of organizing the cards by set one could organize them by archetype: Mana Drain, Workshop, Fish, Bazaar, etc.
For example: in the case of Mana Drain decks one could list all of the cards that get played in the maindeck of decks that play Drains and then distinguish the maindeck cards from the ones that get played in the sideboard. It would even be possible to denote what cards are intended for use against other popular stratagies.
A Mana Drain player would not only be able to research what other successful Mana Drain players have recently used--but they could also look at the Stax section to research what cards Stax players are likely to use after sideboarding. It might be a very good tool for new players who are trying to learn the ropes and make sense of the extremely complicated ways that decks interact with one another.
I Think this is an excellent suggestion. It gives a big source of information to people new to Vintage to know what cards to test against in popular sideboards as well as what cards they need. Building up a Vintage deck is quite the daunting task, but once you do it it's rewarding and profitable for the future worth of the cards. Maybe even hint to new players what cards they should look to get first through a listed order so they can see they should get the four force of wills, then the fetchlands, then the drains, then power, etc, for example so they don't just blow 400.00$ on a mox emerald the first card they get. I also think there should be another Mana Drain article written by Mr. Demars ::cough cough:::. Anyway, I liked the list and I was surprised some drama came out of the article. Thanks again, Steve.

If I lived anywhere remotely near this area, I would come in a heart beat and play anything type of deck I would be able to assemble (I sold my power to Myriad in 2007). I think this is very good for the format when you have non-proxy events/ Sanctioned events from time to time. I can't wait to see the results of this tournament, so I hope a lot of people are going to show!

Yeah, black is pretty suckalicious. I love this format though, it's a whole lot of fun. I drafted a GRW deck the other day with huge beats and the 2R sorcery that does damage to creature or player equal to one of your creatures power. The creatures in blue seem to suck too.

Keep in mind that if you want to play a broken combo deck with Necropotence, you can always play old school Trix too. Four sol rings, Vampiric tutors, Consultations, etc. You'd even get to play with FOW back up. Whenever I play casual I take out a Trix deck.
Don't play Tinker.dec please...SO annoying.

Exactly, they did play like crap, and they still won the game. They're one of the big three 5-0 teams tonight after playing like crap. The Bills are just horrible.
I will give it to the Bills for putting up a fight though. I was expecting a total ass beating tonight.
Patriots are going to crush Dallas next week though. Romo is going to be thinking about tonight's game and blow it.

Dallas is a fraud? What team throws 6 picks in one game and still has the strategy and heart to still win by one point and go 5-0? Oh, yeah, that's Dallas. What a fraud. The bills should have crushed Dallas by a huge spread after so many interceptions. They even returned a kick off for a touchdown! Bills should have had that game by at least 10. What do they have to do to win?! This loss is going to crush their spirits. If anything, this game proves how incredibly resilient the Cowboys are.
You know what's crap? Calling time out with one second left when the ball is about to be snapped on a field goal. That rule is going out the window next season.

Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / The best way to sell my cards?

Greetings all Mana Drainers,
I have recently hit a financial problem in my life that has lead me to selling my expensive Vintage cards. I would like to know what you guys think is the best way to do this? Should I Ebay the cards in seperate auctions? I am getting rid of the following:
4 Mana Drains *one is Italian*
NM UL Ancestral Recall
NM UL Mox Ruby
Beta Mox Pearl
NM UL Mox Jet
HP Bazaar of Baghdad
Good Condition Chains of Mephistopheles
NM Library of Alexandria
Any help would be greatly appreciated. If anyone is even interested here, let me know, I will send you pics of the cards in question.

You also need to remember that a red splash is very important after game one in the Mirror match. You get access to REBs and, if you want, pyroblast to combat an opposing Gush. Think of it this way, if your opponent has REB in the sideboard and you don t for the mirror, you're going to be frustrated. You can also put in cards like Shattering Spree/Rack and Ruin versus Stax, not just Artifact Mutation.
I, for one, am really glad for the new B&R list. It seems like we may have a less Yawgmoth's Will dominated metagame in the future. We get to see more Stax decks, Flash, Fish, and Bomberman.

If someone gave me $300 and an eBay account, I would give them 3 English Drains and an Italian one. I'm not making this up; check the completed listing on eBay. SCG prices and eBay buy it now means absolutely nothing. What does mean something is what other people have paid last week on eBay.
I wasn't saying I don't trust your knowledge. That is why I asked for help. I'm happy that you posted. I thought Drains were worth a lot more because of the costs on Star City. Like I said I have a Library too, and other stuff like DCI vampiric Tutor Foil, etc.

I was going by the Star City games price of 130.00 for the English Drains. I just noticed the English ones on Ebay are going for 90-97$ each with Buy it now. I wasn't sure about the value of Mana Drains since I kept seeing different things. I guess Star City Games really over shoots the value of Drains (140.00?!) , but their UL sapphire goes for around 420$?
Either way, I do have other stuff to add for the trade, if anyone is interested. Library of Alexandria comes to mind as a card I don't use but own. I can also pay the left over cost with money. My Drains just sit in my binder and I would much rather have the last Mox I need.

Does anyone know if it is reasonable to trade anyway 4 Mana Drains (One is Italian) for a Mox Sapphire? I don't feel the need for my Drains anymore and I would like to complete my Mox collection. All the cards are NM and I can send pics when my Girlfriend comes home with her digital camera. Is this a reasonable deal for a trade? I appreciate any experienced trader's opinion.
I have traded away my two Grim Tutors and Workshop for an NM Ancestral Recall to Necropotenza. I am sure he would be more than willing to back me up as someone that is trust worthy.
