1  Eternal Formats / Midwest U.S. / Re: MEANDECK OPEN -- July 31, 2011 VINTAGE Unlimited Proxy Columbus, OH on: July 04, 2011, 12:46:14 pm
Hmm, haven't played vintage in some time. Still have over 350 proxies printed specifically for these events xD
I'd like to make it to this, Steven. I'll have 3 Akron folks in tow if I do!

Not sure, but both of the Foglios were at Ohayocon this year.

For the Oath lists that play Dragon Breath, it makes it so creatures won't trigger it, either.

I think the extra 2 life is worth it in MUD to have the extra versatility that Metamorph can provide. It is also a Sculpting Steel that costs 3 instead of 4 under a Thorn.
6  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Re: StarCity's new buy list on: April 06, 2011, 01:48:54 pm
You guys haven't been watching Troll & Toad's list.
They were buying FoW and Wasteland at $60 like 5 days ago.

It's like a double-strike colossus xD
Shit, in EDH it is a Quadruple-strike one! Going in Sharuum for sure.

My friends and I are all doing this and chronicling it on facebook.
But we all shaved clean on Nov 1st, and are ALSO doing Decembeard and not shaving till the 1st of the year.

Well in weenie style decks in Legacy, you have AEther Vial. I really like the idea of vialing in this guy and stopping fetches in response.

I was about to post the arbiter. Wow, I LOVE it! How disruptive!
16  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Re: Rumors/Previews/mtg.com articles on: September 08, 2010, 02:58:13 pm
Thinking about it, I'm really glad they chose 3 for Metalcraft and not 4.
Especially for the things that ARE artifacts, 3 is so much easier to actually execute than 4.
17  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Re: Rumors/Previews/mtg.com articles on: September 08, 2010, 02:15:19 pm
ooh, Rusted Relic just got spoiled in the Rumor Mill Very Happy

Rusted Relic - 4
Artifact (U)
Metalcraft - Rusted Relic is a 5/5 artifact creature as long as you control three or more artifacts.

Interesting that it isn't a creature unless you have 3 artifacts in play.

How does Platinum Emperion interact with "Pay 1 life: _____" ?  He seems better than Platinum Angel simply because he's fatter and your opponent can't reduce your life total to zero THEN bounce the critter.
Read the card. It says in the reminder text "You can't pay any amount of life except 0."

Lo and behold, he does! xD

Yeah I'm around *nods*
I get really hectic and I try to take on way too much, people that have worked with me have varying experiences.
But yeah it takes me quite a while sometimes, and a lot of the time while I may post on the internet I don't read, or I read and forget to reply to messages.

A lot of it comes from me reading them at work on my phone, then when I get home and am exhausted, I pass out and forget to reply.
Don't worry Scott, I'll fix you up, I've got your stuff in front of me. When I got your last email, I dug through my stuff from moving and pulled them.
And yeah, Brian knows I'm kind of going through tough shit right now, but things are clearing up, I may actually even have a place of my own soon.

I'll email you in a bit, I've got to ferry my friend back to his house first. Legacy GPTrial tomorrow, had to test test test!
22  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Re: Pimpness and Ownership on: May 07, 2010, 04:21:07 am
You don't actually 'bleach' them.
Leaving cards in a window for months/years will take all the color out of them leaving a blue tinted black/white card.

@Soly: Yeah, I bet Danny is foaming at the mouth for your FoWs/Drains hahaha
23  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Re: Pimpness and Ownership on: May 06, 2010, 04:33:52 am
Right, but do people really consider Alpha/Beta power and stuff ... rarities?
I really never have. For something to be a rarity, there had better be like a sheet or two of it, total.

Also, if I put Mickey on a Beta Farmstead would you guys be freaking out just the same?
It may be worth a LOT less, but it is no less rare.
24  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Re: Pimpness and Ownership on: May 01, 2010, 08:33:06 am
Also, my understanding is that the Lotus is in fact Unlimited (and played Unlimited) but has been painted to look Beta.
You are the first person to say anything, which means to me that I have done my job well Very Happy
25  Vintage Community Discussion / Non-Vintage / Re: $1000 Cash Weekend Cleveland, Ohio Legacy & Standard May 8th & 9th on: April 18, 2010, 09:11:04 am
Is payout the same for Legacy even if we get like 50-60 players?
26  Eternal Formats / Global Vintage Tournament Reports and Results / Re: Meandeck Open Results!! Top 8 Decklists/Metagame Breakdown on: February 01, 2010, 12:53:29 pm
I am just so mad at myself when I was in top and in game three versus tezzeret I did not take the brainstorm on the thoughtseize turn one.  I am also surprised that no one else was playing dark depths combo besides me.
You really REALLY should have taken it, it pretty much won me the game.
You weren't the only one playing Dark Depths combo, my friend Joe George was playing it in mono-black and winning games with it, too.
Kudos on that B/G list, it looks pretty awesome, a lot of fun too!

Hahaha I was wondering the same thing, but in a game we were playing, that 5% case was up and it mattered.

Yeah, more than likely I will play with 75 prints, mostly because I absolutely hate not having the pics.
I usually play with primarily Japanese cards, so I generally play using the pictures anyhow.
