Hello everyone,
Some of my fondest memories of playing magic over the years have found their home at the one and only Gencon: Indy.
A few years ago I married the woman of my dreams and sold all my power to help pay for the wedding. I didn't go to Gencon that year or the year after.
Finally, this year I get to go again. Sure there is a ton of stuff to do, but obviously I would love to play in the Vintage Champs and get another shot at beating Steve M. in the top 8. Problem is, despite having a massive collection, I don't have any power.
You could probably see where this thread is heading, however, my very extreme request certainly comes with a twist of rationality. If there is someone who can loan me a tremendous amount of type 1 cards for Gencon, I will most certainly provide the collateral to insure no worries on the part of the kind soul who would make my summer.
I am looking for someone with 5 Moxen, 1 Black Lotus, 3 Workshops(I have 1 in an Antiquities set), and a Time Vault.
As collateral, I would happily leave with you: 4 Candelabra of Tawnos, 40 dual lands(4 of each), 1 complete Antiquities Set(Minus the Workshop...which would be the 4th for my deck), 1 complete Arabian Nights Set, and 1 Timetwister.
I know I am asking a lot, but hopefully the amount of collateral I am able to offer up shows that I will take very seriously the favor you are doing for me in allowing to play in what may be my favorite part of my favorite convention of the year.

Ray,
My friend Greg lent me all of his power when I last went to Gen Con, and I imagine he would do it again, especially if he had collateral. I'll talk to him.

I am in the same boat, but I have a buddy with a 40,000$ collection of cards conservative he could own up to. I already posted my needs though.

I talked to Greg Schwartz (Level 2 judge here in Hadley), and he told me that you are free to exercise all of his power nine. I forgot to ask how many Workshops he had, but I'm assuming he has one. |
