Well i might as well post on here for the fun of it: Donald Campbell 21 years Old From North Bay Ontario Canada Control Player by Nature, Currently Sling Control Slaver I enjoy drinking a lot of beers and hitting on drunk girls, which ended up with me being dubbed King Boozer and being kicked out of college. I like my decks to look pimp so i end up spending way more then i should but i feel it just is so worth it As for Magic history I started right before Odyssey came out, i was famous for playing saporling decks and such until i switched to madness then tog and have been on the control war path since

Might as well chime in, since I only now saw this thread... My name is Luis Neiman, and I live in NYC. I've been playing Magic since Ice Age, but competitively only since Exodus. I lived in Argentina for 8 years while growing up, and spent most of my formative years down there before coming back to the States for college. I graduated from Yale in May of 2003, and have been in New York ever since. I discovered Vintage earlier this year, and I wish there were more big Vintage tournies around here that don't involve driving 4-5 hours to get to. Neutral Ground's Vintage scene is a pretty big joke, and it's impossible to convince them to host a Mox tourney, even though they'd easily recoup the investment if they charged $20 per head. At any rate, I used to play a lot of U/R Fish before I started buying my Power, and lately I've been playing Gifts and Control Slaver, though I've always been a combo player at heart (I've played most every big combo deck from Standard and Extended, like Academy, High Tide, PandeNought, PandeBurst, Jar, Bargain, Bloom, Trix, etc.), which makes me want to try my luck at something like Long or 2-Land Belcher. Whenever I end up getting a playset of Bazaars I'd love to try Dragon out, but that'll have to wait until I get my Workshops (I'm shooting for end of the year). Anyway, I haven't really met any other TMD'ers in person besides Ultima and my friend EliasV, since job + girlfriend prevent me from traveling to most of the big tournaments, but one day hopefully I'll be able to, . My name is Simon Copp, i'm 20 and live in Exeter, the U.K. I study economics at Hull uni and in my spare time i like to play football (soccer to you Yanks), go clubbing and chat up women.
I've been playing since Odyssey but only started playing competitively in Darksteel. There's no proxy scene here in the U.K and i own no power and none of the other staples so i play online. I intend to change that at Gencon U.K by playing in t1 nats.

Hey there, I'm Garland from WI.
I've recently taken up Vintage in lieu of the stagnant Standard PTQ Circuit.
I'm relatively un-powered, but I've been in the "loop" since Homelands so I know a lot of people w/a lot of cards.
Right now I'm testing CS and U/W Fish w/Rods.
I'll probably be at SCG:Chicago in October so let me know if anyone in the area needs some quality testing buddies.
Thanks for reading and I'll be talking with you all soon.

My name is Anthony Michaels and I happen to live in a city by the name of Sheffield Lake which is located about 40 minutes west of Cleveland Ohio. I've been roaming these forums for for quite some time now and decided it was finally time to register and get involved in our lovely community of vintage magic players. So here is the 411
Age - 24 Years gaming - Played in 94 then stopped, picked it back up when judgement came out. Schooling - I'm currently enrolled at Lorain County Community College and next year I take on the wonderful task of student teaching.  Favorite format - vintage a.k.a. the gentlemen's format. Favorite decks - Tog and Deathlong soon to be Grimlong. Favorite movie - The Road Warrior and Stand by Me. Cards that I have access to - I got most of the goods except for twister, recal, walk, and bazaars. Pet peeves - That little kid thats eating pizza and see's your Black lotus which resaults in a greased up card sleeve due to uncounterable hands of mashing. Socks with holes in them. That kid in the class room who has to make a comment after every sentence the professor makes.   An amazing accomplishment - Some how I was able to get my girlfriend to alphabetize all my cards by color. Favorite sayings related to magic - "Your hand was so hot I can't beleive your sleeves didn't melt together." relates to your opponent holding the cheese, "This is pure gasoline" relates to the you holding the cheese, and "God what jankoline" which happens to you when you cast two deep analysis then flash both of them back to only peal eight lands.
I do not know anyone personally from the TMD but I can't wait to meet some of you guys in Richmond. It's going to be my first Starcity tourney and I here it is quite amazing. On a final note, fun is the most important part of the game for me and I'm always down for some sweet type 1 action.

Hey I suppose I should introduce myself(I'm such a follower ). Name: Joe Age:25 I've been playing Magic since '96 and just started to get serious about type 1 a year ago. About 3 years ago I started a job that did not allow me time to play in my local T1 tournaments and sold the entire P9 to a friend. This was not a good idea cause now I so wish I had held on to it. I play with my local team, Team WTF?!?!(not named after Worse Than Fish, I hate that deck). We are located in CNY between Syracuse and Binghamton in a town called Cortland. Anyway that's me. Feel free to check out the store I play at boards. www.area51cortland.biz/boards

Hi, my name is Jeff Rieck. I've lived here in Minnesota for roughly 32 years now, which is my entire lifetime. I come from a family that has ported from the Chicago area, and now also resides in the Twin Cities, Seattle, and Boston. Anyway, my own family consists of my wife of 9 years, Tracy, my 4 year old son, Aidan, and myself. We live in a Twin Cities suburb named Cottage Grove. It's really nice here, excluding January through March. My career has me working for a company that develops and produces various printing inks. Besides performing QC work, I help mill ink into a final product which is sent out to printing companies throughout the United States and parts of Canada and Europe-land. I started playing Magic back when I was a sophomore in college, also right when I met my future wife, back when the Legends shortage hit. I had collected power and kept up with what was called Type 2 back then. (erhnam 'n burn 'm 4L) I stopped drafting and playing constructed and everything when Masques came out. Vintage Academy decks were really fun to goldfish back then. My hiatus ended when my brother, who got me into the game originally, sucked me back in when Torment was just released. I immediately turned to Vintage and stuck with it after a short, bad experience with Mongrel in Standard. eww. Go figure that out. From then on, I entered the Vintage sanctioned tournaments at Dreamers, here in MN, not really playing competitively. I pretty much re-entered the format just as Fact or Fiction was restricted. Since then I have joined with team Reflection and must say that I am the luckiest player to be a part of the team Woot. Shoot me a pm if you wish, Jeff. Also, if you ever need a stupid comment, I'm your man. Edit: added a daughter (Audrey Marie) to the family in March of 07. Go me!

A little about me: My name is Brian, though most of my friends call me Cat. I hail from the southwest side of Chicago (near I-294 and I-55). I am almost always on AIM, and that name is TheUprisal as well (I more or less have a monopoly on it or something. Its great haha). Magic history - I'm relatively fresh, forIve only played since Legions. I didn't get even partially decent until Mirrodin, where I finally dove head first into competitive Magic. Then Darksteel came around, Magic got extremely dull in Standard with RAffinity running around, so I decided to explore Vintage. I played Twiddling Desires, so when I saw Mind's Desire was restricted immmediately, I had to explore why. So I've played combo ever since! Yesterday I played at my first Star City Power 9 tournament, and I finally decided I have enough knowledge to say something. It's all about respect. My Username, TheUprisal, I have no idea really how I came up with it. But it is me, and I am sometimes called that, but mostly Cat. And sometimes Brian too, but generally not. Who uses first names these days? I am Team Kitty. My Vintage scene is basically dead, and I have to scour the internet to pursue the greatest format in Magic. I'm 19, will be turning 20 in a month, am an ex-football, baseball and hockey player, and also I've dabbled in theatre. I also enjoy playin Texas Hold'em, listening to music (wide variety, from Dream Theater to Bach to NWA to Cradle of Filth) and spending time with those closest to me. Movies are fun, as are videogames. My competitive streak is a mile long, but I can control it most of the time. Now please...be gentle but feel free to ask me things. Not shy, I am

Well, it's taken a while for me to find this, but here I am. I'm a music nut. My favourite artists would be, in order - 1. Rhapsody. They're brilliant, they're epic - in both music and storyline - but most of all, they're original. 2. Luca Turilli. He's the most talented guitarist I've ever heard. Who else can strum up something like the solo in The Last Winged Unicorn? 3. Kamelot 4. Dragonforce Come join us in the Realm of Nigeri, a forum/chat based fantasy RPG. And right now is the greatest time to join - the admins have just implented the eagerly awaited STPA. Currently using MSE to create an MtG block based on Nigeri. Any help, suggestions or advice is greatly appreciated, and will receive credit. You don't even have to know anything about Nigeri - art and flavour is always appreciated. If you can't tell yet, I have a massive affinity for dragons and anything draconic. They're big, they fly, they breathe fire...what's not to like?

Hello. I'm Matt from Michigan; I started back when Unlimited was released, then quit shortly after Homelands. Then I started again when Onslaught was released, reaquired all my power, then quit after Scourge and sold my Lotus in the parking lot of a Pizza Hut to pay rent.
I'm currently going to school for Gemology, which -- for those who don't know -- is the study of precious/semi-precious stones mostly for the purposes of jewelery and so forth. This makes me moderately welcomed in a conversation with women and the scourge of a lot of folks who would just rather talk about grilling and explosives.
Anyhow, I'm back to playing now, more for the theory than the actual play. I own a lot of cards, but I rarely actually sit down to play a game because I just enjoy building decks a little more than arguing over timing rules and so forth. I played Stax, long ago, before it was Stax; my kill condition was Snake Basket with some Time Vaults thrown in. It would be horrible now, but it was mine, and at the time I thought Karn sucked.

hi my name is chad halstead and i live in hurricane WV, which is fairly near our capitol, charleston. Just in case anyone really cares. so anyway i have been playing since '95, about when 4th had come out, though since i was just in high school i had no money and could not buy cards. i eventually got some more and played at school. most of all of my friends had quit within a year or two of this time, but i continued to play at school. when i graduated i basically quit playing though i always bought new cards and stayed current with things, though i had never played in a tournament at that point. while i was taking japanese in college, one of my classmates was talking to someone about the game and we began talking and became friends, this is when odyssey came out. so i began actually playing a lot more and we start going to tournaments like states and regionals, though we still dont have lots of people to play against. but two years ago we started getting more people around here and began an official FNM for the first time in the state! after i graduated from college i started graduate school, and then began getting lots of extra money through loans, which i decided i would focus on buying expensive stuff with. this was last year. i started getting into vintage and began reading TMD. last may i went to my first vintage tournament and placed 33rd at SCG richmond. since that point i got more power and expensive stuff and played at the richmond this past sept, got 17th. well after that i realized that i really liked vintage more, and because of graduate school i really didnt have time to play as much. i then made the decision to focus soley on vintage and quit all other formats, so i sold all the T2 stuff i had to buy more power. thats were i am now. while i dont play much like before, i stay current and read TMD every day. besides magic, i really really like to cook, especially japanese food, but i enjoy really anything and like showing off my skills to others.

Name: Paul Nicolo Age: 18 Place: Around Detroit, Michigan
Info: I've been playing competitive Magic for about a year, Vintage for only about 5 months. I picked up UW Fish because it was similar to decks I've played before (I played an Extended Whtie Weenie deck with Aether Vials and Meddling Mages to a top 8 at a qualifier,) and it was relatively cheap to build. I got into Vintage because I was bored of Kamigawa Block Constructed (worst format ever.) After a few local tournaments I figured out how to play Vintage and I took some time to design a version of Fish to my likings. After quite a few lists and tweaks and tournaments I've won three pieces of power with the deck.
I am sponsored to play Magic by RIW Hobbies, a store in Livonia Michigan that is owned by the coolest person in the world. Notable players from the store are Pro Tour regulars Kyle Goodman and Mark Herberholz, and the best VS System player in the world, Michael Jacob.
Besides Magic I go to school sometimes and I bowl sometimes. I work at a comic book store, even though I know nothing about comic books. Not much else happens.

Greetings!
My name is Kayvan Koie I'm 36, and have been playing mtg since '94.
I enjoy all forms of the game, including vintage, though I'd have to say my personal favorite is multiplayer.
I was told about the forums by JDizzle, the pimpmeister himself, whome I met this past year.
As of recent I've been spending more time putting together legacy decks, though I still am experimenting and trying to find that one vintage deck thats out there waiting for me to discover.

Hi everyone!
I'm Ramon from Germany and quite new to the competitive Vintage scene. I started playing Magic with Ice Age, but stopped it after Tempest came out.
However, last year I picked up those prepackaged decks and started playing with a friend. After some time, we got back into th game and I'm planning on coming back to the tournament scene. I'm not really a good player, but I think I'll improve over time, especially in a competitive environment. I haven't laid eyes on a certain deck type yet, I'm still experimenting with several archetypes, but it will be unpowered, for the time being at least.
Well, that's it about me, glad to be here.

My name is RJ and I am from San Diego!
I have been playing since Fifth Dawn, I still consider myself a newb. I am attempting to play Vintage, I am really intimidated by this forum. I am reading a lot of the tourney results to see how people play their decks. I have been to a few prereleases but that is all the tourney play I have. I am really looking for a group to get into and be the quiet newb that watches for a while and then begins to play. I have a semi-competitive deck, I have a few of the staples for a decent vintage deck, but being freshly out of college I lack the funds for such cards. In a five proxy event I could easily build any deck I want.
so if anyone in the San Diego area wants to help me out, I will play hard and work hard not to let you down! Peace RJ

Hey, my name is Brandt Rosentreter.
I'm from the Lansing area of Michigan which is just east of Lansing. I have been playing Magic since Mercadian Masques but I didnt quite understand the game yet and took a break until I got back into it when Mirrodin came out because I was bored. I'm only 13 years old (yea I said it) but I'll be turning 14 in February. I consider myself as a high average player, as I understand most concepts of the game but I still frequently make mistakes. I used to play a lot of Type 2 and Extended but now I mostly am into Vintage and Legacy. I like the game because of the strategy involved and it gives my brain something to do most of the time.
So there you have it, I hope I can post some worth information on the boards.

Hello, my name is Joe Cahill , I am 29 and from CT. USA. I have been playing magic on and off since revised. I had a ton of cards stolen from me in high school including a full set of duals and a playset of mana drains After that immediately happened I stopped playing/collecting until onslaught block was released. I have picked up my collection and own most of the great cards you can have except for P9 pieces. I love the game and enjoy meeting people who play. If you live in CT(preferrably in the northwest) PM me so we can play/trade yadda yadda Joe

My name's Nicolae! I'm from Battle Creek, MI I've been playing magic since 96 (although back then it was just with friends after Middle School)... I've been playing vintage for the last 3-4 years. I also played T2, but lost my lust for it after Odyssey block rotated (sniff... bye Mono Black Control). I've found my lust for it again, thanks Confidant! I love playin aggro! My first vintage deck was good ol R/G beats, and it served me well. I currently am working on new ways to undermine the meta... Including my latest piece o originality- "Dawn of the Dead" ( http://www.themanadrain.com/forums/index.php?topic=27013.0 finished 20th day 1, 3rd day 2 of Waterbury) Go rogue! My name is Guus and I'm from the ever cool Holland ;\. Cool in both ways. I'm 19 years old and still not at university.
I started playing Elves and Blaze decks in when the Mercadian Masques came out. I did play Portal before actually but I can't remember for how long. A couple of my friends got me into Vintage Magic and I'm an addict ever since. I don't have the money to spend to buy the entire P9 and as Holland usually doesn't allow proxies I decided that it was time for Legacy.
Besides Magic I just like to work out, iceskate, snowboard and do windsurfing. Music is a huge passion for me, I'm thinking about buying myself some decks and become a DJ, but Magic and sports are more important and have the priority when it comes to money.
That's it folks, hope you enjoyed my introduction as much as I enjoyed yours.

Hi, I'm Casper from Holland. I'm 18 years old and turning 19 next November. I'm a friend of Mantis (above).
I'm playing magic for almost 2 years now, I started out when Mirrodin was already in the stores. I learned to play magic from Duncan (another TMD user). My first deck was affinity and my first tournament appearance was with the same deck running Broodstar as the kill!
When I'm not playing magic, I'm probably sleeping, at school, at work or enjoying myself with my other hobbies. My other hobbies include soccer, I'm a goaly.
I got my first power this year, it's a (pretty busted) Mox Sapphire.

My name is Gaby van Dinteren, I was born in march 1968 and that makes me older than most of you. I´m a Dutchie living in Spain. The company I worked for sent me to Spain for a couple of months but that turned out to be quite different as now I have a Spanish wife and two little daughters. I work for a pharmaceutical company close to Barcelona. I started playing Magic in Urza´s cycle (yes, pretty late) and started playing T1 more or less in 2002. The Barcelona meta was an embryo by then, with only one player owning the P9. At the beginning of 2004 I managed to record a great number of good tourney results, earning my a no. 1 spot in the Spanish vintage rating for about two months. Nowadays competition in the BCN metagame is really tough. Currently I spend most of my Magic time as a member of TMD, during working hours . I play a T1 tourney once a month and sometimes twice, all that my family life allows me to do. My favorite deck of all time is Survival-Mask, unfortunately obsolete. Nowadays I mainly run Drain decks, but few times you will see me play the same deck. I like trying out things. My favorite card is Force of Will. My shoe size is 42. Time to press the "post" button.

Hi Everybody,
My name is Jacob Riehm and I am a 25 year old graduate student living in St. Louis, MO.
I started playing magic during Tempest, quitting after Urza's block. Then I got back into it during Mirrodin. Seeing as how I played during the 2 most powerful Standard cycles, I got bored when Champions came out and quit every other format and picked up Vintage in January of 2005 as my lust for power grew.
I get bored with decks pretty easily, so every few months I try something different. My favorite card ever is Triskelion, partly because of the effect and partly because of the art by Douglas Shuler.
I am slowly assembling the Power Eight and have finally started winning some tournaments in the last month or two.
When I am not playing Magic I do research in a lab and see my girlfriend. They both take up alot of time.

A little about me:
My name is Andrew, and seeing as this is my 10th post I am now a basic user at TMD!! I am 20 and I live next to Waterbury, Ct.
Magic history - I started playing Magic during Ice Age, but have only been playing Vintage competitively for under 1 year now. I went to the last Waterbury Open, but placed poorly due to a severe cold. As a rule I tend to play Red when playing casual, but competitively I play Dragon Combo (go ahead an laugh).
I am notorious for being cheap when it comes to buying cards, but as a result most of my slowly growing collection cost me nothing! Hopefully I will begin to collect some P9 within the next year.
I am on MWS all the time (my name is Harbinger) so I will be sure to see some of you around!
