How many more Unicorns must die???

Perhaps a new revival to Oath, "progenitus", a legendary 10/10 with protection from everything.
This may even surpass Darkstell Colussus as the biggest beat-stick ever!!!
I can't wait to see this card mixed into Oath decks

This plus archangel should prove pretty annoying, and both pitch to force.

Wow. It's still technically slower than Akroma + Hellkite, but protection everything is pretty much awesome. The main issue with it's impact is that it is legendary and unhasted, meaning it'll have to be part of a package of creatures.
Almost makes me think that Show and Tell would be worth playing.

ill agree with the first and last part gunslinga
but the oath deck was my first thought when i saw this guy i think the new angel is better tho that redirection is great and shroud is almost the same as the protection he offers in a vintage environment

I'll go out on a limb and guess that "new angel" is in reference to Empyrial Archangel.

I'm thinking one Progenitus and one Akroma
That way, there is still the vilgilance of Akroma to block, as well as her first strike

Then you end up with your opponent at 3 life, ready to win next turn, and you Oath up Mr. Can't Attack and you lose.
I mean, seriously, it's not like Oath has that much trouble right now as far as creature quality goes. Oath has problems, yes, but they're more due to a lack of a good draw engine and lack of Brainstorm (and the fact that there are better decks out there) than lack of good Oath targets.

It's a strictly better Simic Sky Swallower, which I know has seen play in Oath in the past, at least in the sideboard for Fish decks or whatever. I don't play Oath, so I don't know if this is common any more, but if it is this will certainly take that spot.

I agree this guy is just not right for Oath. The best case scenario is Oath, timewalk, yawg, timewalk again....at that point you may as well run MD Gifts and achieve the same result minus Oath.

The problem is that Empyrial Archangel is so off-the-charts good that I wouldn't dream of playing any other sideboard guys.

This won't ever see play, perhaps a sideboard in a meta full of bounce or swords. Darksteel C sees play because it can be Tinkered, and be discarded to Thirst. Since the day brainstorm got banned, Slower oath builds can't win on card advantage, I have been playing loads with my new Oath builds, and the faster, the better. Hence at I use Akroma and Overlord, because the 20 damage after oath hits play is so important, having the angel out, then the 10/10 means you don't even use him, because the angel will have done 18 damage y the time this guy can attack. it does pitch to FOW though

Yes,Tarmogoyf is probably better than Chameleon Colossus, but comparing it to Tarmogoyf is like comparing your girlfriend to Carmen Electra - one's versatile and reliable, the other's just big and cheap.(And you'd run both if you could get away with)

Newly spoiled: Inkwell Leviathan 7uu Artifact Creature - Leviathan Islandwalk, trample, shroud 7/11 Bigger than Empyrial Archangel, no damage replacement ability, Islandwalk instead of Flying. This has a similar chance of making it into Oath. Still not better than Angel, though

It's going to be SOOOO powerful to draft This would be great along side a Platty in an oath deck, with DSC sideboarded if the opponent isnt running any removal

I quit playing artifact creatures in Oath when I got tired of losing to the Hurkyl's Recalls and Rebuilds that my opponent would bring in anyway for my Chalices.

Bah, it's slower than Akroma + Helkite. Peace, -Troy Marginally so. If Sphinx is your first Oath and you hit another Akroma/Hellkite, then it's just as fast. I will definitely going to try this out. The ability to Pitch to Thirst, FoW, and be Tinkerable gives it so much more utility than any other creature that its worth serious consideration.

You make a good point, if you hit it first, it is practically the same. The fact that it's not dead in your hand may be a plus too. After reading your post, I think it may warrant more consideration than I initially gave it. Peace, -Troy

There may be some scenarios, too, when you need your life total to become 10.
But if you hit it second, it makes the first Oath activation for Hellkite Overlord or Akroma pointless.
