Ok guys. I can't find the crazy stax thread so I figured to start a new one here. I think Menendian had the right idea for blue stax but I disagree with some of the lock pieces and, with printing of conflux we have exciting new options to try. I give you:

Master-Lock Stax

Land (18):
4 Mishra's Workshop
4 Wasteland
1 Strip Mine
4 Seat of the Synod
4 Island
1 Academy Ruins.

Artifact Creatures (10):
4 Master of Etherium
3 Master Transmuter
1 Inkwell Leviathan
1 Triskelavus
1 Sundering Titan

Artifacts (25):
1 Black Lotus
5 Moxen
1 Sol Ring
1 Mana Crypt
1 Mana Vault
4 Mindlock Orb
3 Crucible of Worlds
4 Chalice of the Void
4 Tangle Wire
1 Trinisphere

Instants (5):
1 Ancestral Recall
4 Force of Will

Sorceries (2):
1 Time Walk
1 Tinker

SB
4 Propaganda
4 Relic of Progenitus
4 Echoing Truth
3 Pithing Needle

Has this been tried and tested yet?  Why Leviathan over say, Sundering Titan?  How do you answer null rod, aside from Force of Will?  Has mindlock orb been any good, or is it just another blue card to pitch to force?  Why the singular Courier's Capsule?

I'm the only other legal target, so I draw 6 cards, and he literally quits Magic.

Leviathan is taking the place of Darksteel because it can be pitched to FoW in a pinch. Mindlock is there to prevent broken tutor plays from the opponent ( prevents Tezz ability) and also prevents them from tutoring up answers to your lock pieces. Capsule combos quite well with ruins, but may deserve the ax. It may be nice to try to find a couple slots for misdirection here but I can't see where. Master transmuter is not the only path to victory. Master of Etherium can easily beat for the win so there are times you won't even care about null rod

What are you thinking???? Force of Will in the main board, with a Trinisphere??? that my friend is stupid. This is a bad MUD deck, don't keep working on it....

This is the sort of comment that's just spoiling for a flame war. In light of your other, similar, posts today, Full Warning.

Actually, I'm a big fan of leviathan over Titan as it also can't be bounced or plowed and the loss of clock shouldn't make a big difference if you already have your opponent crucible locked. I'm thinking of cutting Master of Etherium altogether to make room for more leviathans and possibly the capsule again. That may be unwise though. Thoughts?

Leviathan is an inspired choice actually.  It's not like you run Thirst anyways.

I wouldn't cut Etherium for more Leviathan's though.  I would just go for the singleton Leviathan.  Etherium is plenty big.  That said Etherium is cuttable, but not for Leviathan.

Personally, I don't think getting a +1/+1 for one creature off a Seat of Synod is worth generating more exposure to Null Rod.

Have you thought about running Esperzoa?

Esperzoa
2U
Artifact Creature - Jellyfish
4/3
Flying
At the beginning of your upkeep, return an artifact you control to its owner's hand.

Combos great with Tangle Wire. Stack your upkeep to bounce the Tangle Wire before it makes you tap stuff, then replay it during your main phase. You have to pay three every turn to keep replaying the tangle wire, but you get to make your opponent tap 4 permanents forever and you put your opponent on a clock.

Also, you should think about running some number of Ghost Quarters. With Mindlock Orb, they become Strip Mines!

And Saint Attila raised the hand grenade up on high, saying, "O Lord, bless this thy hand grenade, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy." And the Lord did grin. And the people did feast upon the lambs and sloths...

I also run tinker with mindlock orb. Just cause some cards lack synergy does not mean they're bad choices. Their raw power is undeniable. Once my opponent finds an answer to trinisphere I'll be glad to have FoW to keep them off the board. FoW is also there to ensure that cards like trinisphere resolve. Menendian did the exact same thing in his prototype for the deck and I'll take his advice over yours.

Yes, I have another list with esperzoa and it still may end up with the nod when all is said and done. Ghost quarter is good and all but I do worry about blue mana count with the deck is all.

This is not true.  Tanglewire has a triggered effect that goes on the stack at the beginning of your upkeep.  Even if you bounce it back to your hand with Esperzoa you will still have to resolve the ability.  The ability is independent of the source.

Yes, but you can have it such that you only tap 3 permanents (1 being Tangle Wire itself) and force them to tap 4 every turn. It's still an advantage for you.

I really like this deck. I was playing against it the other day and man Mindlock Orb + Chalice for 0 hurts any control or combo. No fetches. No tutors. No Tezz. No Moxes. Think about that for a second. It really mana screws them. Plus you are running Wastelands plus Stripmine and Crucible. So you really would have them in a lock.

The only card I would suggest is Thoughtcast. You are running Seat of Synods. So that means Thoughtcast can easily be added and you will be paying around 1U or U for it. Maybe
+4 Thoughtcast
-4 Master of Etherium
The side looks a little shakey but good. As for Null Rod how about Smokestack?

Also, you should think about running some number of Ghost Quarters. With Mindlock Orb, they become Strip Mines!

Also, Esperzoa seems great on paper but Master Transmuter does many things that Esperzoa does not.

1. Makes your spell uncounterable because you're not actually casting them
2. Allows you to play them at instant speed. Can be handy with certain cards.
3. Protects himself from removal and thus becomes very very hard to kill
4. Allows you to drop fatties early.
5. Perhaps, most importantly, always costs U to do so. This is key when you are trying to use his ability AND drop a lock piece on the same turn.

With all of this in mind I have a new decklist for you all that's similar to my first, but designed to abuse the Master Transmuter a bit more.

Master-Lock Stax

Land (19):
4 Mishra's Workshop
4 Wasteland
1 Strip Mine
2 Ancient Tomb
6 Island
1 Tolarian Academy
1 Academy Ruins.

Artifact Creatures (9):
3 Master Transmuter
3 Faerie Mechanist
1 Inkwell Leviathan
1 Triskelavus
1 Sundering Titan

Artifacts (25):
1 Black Lotus
5 Moxen
1 Sol Ring
1 Mana Crypt
1 Mana Vault
4 Mindlock Orb
3 Crucible of Worlds
4 Chalice of the Void
4 Tangle Wire
1 Trinisphere

Instants (5):
1 Ancestral Recall
4 Force of Will

Sorceries (2):
1 Time Walk
1 Tinker

SB
4 Propaganda
4 Relic of Progenitus
4 Echoing Truth
3 Pithing Needle
