So, tournaments for November and December have already been approved.  Will be posting December shortly as well.
I'm taking vintage back for New England, YOU'RE WELCOME!

There seemed to be some confusion by a person who did not attend, I am promoting these tournaments, and trying to start a new vintage scene for people in the area.  Matt is putting up all the prize support, and the tournaments are officially run by him.  I intend on playing in each of these tournaments, so anyone who may be talking behind my back that I am in some way influencing the outcome of said tournament, or insinuating that I am doing something wrong by playing, can go ahead and get hit by a bus (there is only one of you out there).

You, obviously, and anyone that wants to play vintage at the most entertaining tournaments on the planet.  Except of course for dave feinstein who is in fact banned from every tournament I will ever run.

WHAT:
$25 entry
$20 entry for anyone that had to travel 60 miles(an hour) or more to attend! bring proof bitches.  Supporting a new tournament by traveling is important, and people that go out of their way to do so should be rewarded.

1st: Mox Unknown color as of right now
2nd: Mana Drain
3rd-8th: random good stuff

Prizes to 3rd-8th at 20 players, cash splits will also be available.

First tournament is back in the books for Enfield, 13 players, bad rainy weather, but 4 brave souls made the journey from long island.  This one will be solid regardless.

Updated with a new entry fee policy, if you travel from an hour or more away, you get $5 off entry.  This will probably become standard practice to help counter some of the costs of traveling, and reward people who go out of their way to support a new tournament scene.

So here's what went down last month.  I'm ready to merrily saunter away from work, when all of a sudden I get blindsided with this.  "Hi Chris, can you take on a little additional matter?  Yeah it's just about civilprocedurepreemptionjuris dictionholderinduecourseconfl ictoflawsrookerfeldmandoctrin ekerz'smompullmanabstentionclasscer tificationeverythingelse."  So my weekend was mercilessly run down by a truck bearing the crap ton of documents I was buried in.

But not so for this next occasion.  I will resign if my professional obligations get in the way of slaughtering hapless Stax players.  A Monkey Cage deck winning a Vintage tournament?  G/W Beats in the finals?  Not in my backyard.  What the hell has Connecticut Vintage become?  The ill-kempt, Mountain Dew drinking cousin of Legacy who has Internet Tourette's Syndrome and a heart of gold?  I won't stand for this blasphemy.  You're all on notice.

Also, wtf at everyone else for missing this last month.  Unless you also got a mountain range of work dumped on you at the last minute that a normal man would need to leave in his will for his kids to finish, you had no excuse.  None.  Travis is injecting the Vintage scene with a concentrated dose of awesome, and everyone should be there as witnesses if not participants.

To be serious.  Travis is sticking his neck out on behalf of everyone in New England who's wanted the $20 guaranteed Mox/Drain standard to come back.  That's not a small sacrifice.  I feel terrible to have not been there to support him (and for bailing on my fellow tournamentgoers) last month, because this might be the one of the last chances for us all to band together and support TO's who are willing to shoulder personal risk in order to provide maximum value in a T1 event.

Simply put:  If you live in the New England area and you voted in support of lower entrance fees in the poll a few months back, this is your chance to have a part in making that a reality.  I hope to see you all on 11/14, so you can watch me overrun Kowal's G/W deck with a singleton War Mammoth in TPS.
