Me: Hello Vintage.  How are you?
Type One: I'M SO LONELY.  WE- WE SHOULD HANG OUT SOMETIME.

It's been a while, but I decided to dip my toes back into the vintage tournament running waters since I've gotten alot of requests to run one and the New England Vintage tourney scene has slowed down dramatically.  Also, I miss the format <3

P.S. Before anyone asks, anyone is welcome to come to this.  There were a select few people on here who caused me some trouble in the past, but I'm willing to forgive/forget for 2010.  Just remember my store is shenanigan-free :p

Just letting you know, this is the same day as the N.Y.S.E. Lotus event. I don't know how many people from New England are gonna be going to that, but it might hurt your attendance a little.

Also, you might want to put an address for the store in the post.

Whoops  Very Happy

Added my store's address.

As for competing tourneys, there's nothing within 3 hours driving of my store so everyone running competing tourneys on that day should be fine.  It's incredibly tricky to run tournaments these days because every weekend has stuff on it.  I literally don't have another weekend I could pick in January/Feb since I have lots of other stuff upcoming like Pre-releases and Launch Parties.

I think it will be a fun weekend.  If people have other plans I completely understand.  I'm just offering something local for New Englanders.

Thanks Smile

To head off a possible controversy, it might be useful to note in advance whether "ELD proxies" count towards the proxy limit.  I can't imagine anyone would need 20 proxies and ELD proxies beyond those, but in case it comes up, it would be good to have that established.

If my schedule allows, I will try to make it to this.

ELD proxies can certainly be used for the event, but at my event they count as normal proxies.

I agree that I cannot imagine someone needing that many proxies.

Eric's proxies are awesome so I definitely encourage use of them, but they still count towards the 20 proxy count.

C'mon, that was funny  Wink

As much as I bust your balls, you run an amazing tournament.  Your vintage ones were before I started playing, but if you're legacy tournaments are any indication, it's gonna be awesome.  also, the prize support is nutty.

The fact that this is a double header will bring people back into T1. My legacy team of 10 people who don't play vintage will most likely be stayin with me and probably goin to T1 for giggles.

P.S. since T1 got dumb just play legacy.

Also, Bill Copes, remind me to give you a free high five

Oh man I've heard Dave say that he'd never run another Vintage tourney like five times in the past year (aka every time I see him and ask). I'm so glad he changed his mind.

I also lol'd @ the fact that every one of your Legacy tourney announcements on the Source start that exact same way: with people mentioning that you're competing with a tournament in New York.

Anywho, I gotta get the day off for this one. I'll be there with the Fall River crew.

Farias stirring up controversy... I don't believe it Mad

I did say earlier in the year that I had no plans to run Vintage, this much is true (stop putting our private convos on the interwebs! =P)

...but New England Vintage is on life support right now so plans changed.

I just want to inject a little life back into the tournament scene.  Vintage meant alot to me and it got me into running tournaments, which eventually led to my desire to own a store.  In other words, without Vintage I almost certainly would not have my store.

I've played/judged/organized hundreds of tournaments at every level, Vintage will hands down always be my favorite kind.

My hope is that there's support for this is so Vintage can grow again in New England.

I view this tournament as a love letter to Vintage.

Help me write it on January 23rd.

- Dave

I'll be there. I love vintage, I love free food, I love rhode island, and now I love dave.  Only thing that would make this better is free Punisher comic books.  For anyone who thinks type 1 is dead, and that type 1 cant be exciting, well, david really broke the glass ceiling on this one!

Heh Thanks.  I love you too <3

I don't have free Punisher comic books... but I have incredibly cheap ones :p

Started carrying comics.  Have a bucketload of back issues of good stuff.  Should have most of it on display by the time this rolls around.

Added this to calendar, thanks Abe.

Really looking forward to this.  Been too long since I did something Vintagey.

Thanks again to everyone for your interest in my event.

Happy Holidays =)

;(

Well I hope you had fun at them at least.

Type one seems pretty wide open right now, so it's a good a time as any to try your hand at it.

I updated the main post with more pics.

Interest in both events has been strong.  Looking forward to the weekend.

Thanks again and Happy New Years!  Smile
