Jake doesn’t open on Leyline – he plays City of Brass, and then Pithing Needle on Bazaar.

No, seriously.

I'm looking to make the trip from Pittsburgh and pick up some friends from State College and Harrisburg.  One of them is new to Vintage (this will be his first tournament) and he doesn't have the cards to make a deck.  The rest of us only have one deck, so would anyone be so gracious as to help out and lend him a deck for the tournament (preferably blue-based, Fish, or Oath)?  Thanks much.

EDIT: False alarm, he bailed.

Sorry but who is this, and who do you know in Harrisburg and PSU?

The four originally slated to make the expedition are from the Harrisburg/Hershey area, but split up to go back to school.  The only person you might know is Mark Hornung; the rest of us have only gone to a handful of tournaments.  Unfortunately, the whole trip is off due to lack of commitment (AKA flaking).  On the bright side, the rest of the Harrisburg group seems to be catching on to the Vintage scene, so look out for some ringers from central PA in the future.

I know fellow Council member Mark Hornung.  Hopefully, all of you can make the Bloomsburg tourney.

We had a great turnout of 50 players, with the amazing Jerry "Road Warrior" Yang making an appearance.

Top 8 was something like

Sam Berse (Aggro Mud) vs Trygon Gat

Jeff Folinus (Elephant Oath) vs Jake Gans (Aggro Mud)

Steve Nowakowski (TPS) vs Sean Robbins (Empty Gush)

Ed Carey (Mono Red Shops) vs Paul Mastiano (I'm not completely sure what his deck was, it was sort of like slaver I think)

Top 4

Folinus defeats Nowakowski
Carey defeats Sam Berse

Finals
Cary defeats Folinus

Not surprised to see that Ed Carey won this one - the person who bumps me out of the top 8 always seems to win, lol.  plus his deck was just good for that metagame.  I should have played Pitning needle naming Goblin Welder... i'll remember that for next time.

I played Brian Demars' control slaver deck.  My list is only a few cards different from what jeff anand played in New York the previous week.

Thanks again to Nick for running another professional-quality event. i'll see you all at the next one.

It's true...Thanks to Matt for posting an article with 187758 lists in it a week earlier. I scanned for one I had all the cards for. Looking forward to having plenty of time now to play t1 again.
