Since nobody is saying much today, I thought I would start a general post.
What is your favorite card played in Vintage and why?
Mine is Wurmcoil Engine, it is a solid body for its cost and the lifelink and deathtouch give it the boost that I love. But then it goes further and is very hard to get rid of with removal since it replaces itself.

Obvious answer - Lodestone Golem
Less obvious answer - Nether Void.

I've yet to work out a way to have them in the same deck Sad

Hex Parasite, since he can do so much things, like sucking down life for Death's Shadow, targeting Phantasmal Images, or Critters beside of Horobi, Death's Wail, and of course removing counters from Permanents Smile.

2nd one is Transmute Artifact, which i would loveley see to be a Shop playable card, with Su-Chi and stuff.

Island.

I love when I have mana to cast all the awesome blue spells.  It's ability that reads "cannot be the target of wastelands" is second only to the awesome ability to "tap for U mana"!

Island.

This is one of my least favorite cards along with 3 other basic lands because...

My favorite card is Magus of the Moon.

Meddling Mage

It was unique (although since spawned a half-dozen variations), aggressive, and perfectly captures what decks such as Noble Fish want to do: disrupt and beat down in a dually efficient and proactive manner.  There is a direct relationship between player skill and the strength of this card, as well as similar Vintage playables like Cabal Therapy and Phyrexian Revoker.  Plus, it's one of the few Vintage playables that also plays Vintage.

Gifts Ungiven, Intuition, and Fact or Fiction are my favorites. I love presenting, often times, lose lose propositions and watching opponents squirm.

In all seriousness, my favorite cards are:

Hymn to tourach - nothing says "game" like a random effect; nothing makes your opponent say "shit!" like discarding 2 early on for just BB.

Mana crypt - my color is black (see signature) and nothing says great power at a price much like this card.  The fact that it is usable in almost any deck gives it the nod over other monocolor power/price cards.

Fetchlands - strictly better than dual lands which is a hard feat to pull off.  Enabled dual color decks to rely on basic lands and made 3 and 4 color decks viable with duals outside of using rainbow lands.  They also made brainstorm the broken card it has now become instead of fringe playable chaff due to the shuffle.  Beautiful.

Nothing in Vintage gives me more pleasure than a turn 3 play of "float UU, Gush" (with no lands in hand). It just feels so efficient, with a wealth of options ahead of you, etc etc. Gush will always be my favorite unrestricted card, especially since it is fairly versatile. Gush Combo, Gush Control, and Gush Aggro are all completely viable despite being vastly different archetypes. Of all the draw engines/pillars, I don't think anything comes close to the flexibility of Gush.

There are a slew of great cards that are a ton of fun to play, but nothing beats animating your opponent's Moxen, then animating your Crucibles, Stacks, Spheres and swinging in for lethal in one great swoop.

Karn.  Predictably.

Dark Confidant.

When I pilot a non-shop deck, I love to play long games, hedging incremental advantages against a progressively waning opponent.

Dark Confidant is the ultimate slow-roller.

Bridge From Below

This card was the tipping point in taking Dredge to a place where a magic deck could realistically win the game without any mana and without ever casting a spell.  While it's not the ideal way to design or play Dredge, I enjoy the idea.

The card does absolutely nothing when hard cast.  Nada.  Worthless.  I like that a very powerful card has this characteristic.

There are more answers to it then I care to count, but a counterspell isn't one of them and I love that.  The fact that blue control decks had a hard time beating Dredge using their normal tactics and some folks even started calling for the restriction of Bridge From Below gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside.

My favorite Vintage playable is Thada Adel, Acquistor.  (Not that anyone ever actually plays with her, dammit.)

Mine would be snapcaster or Jace. Playing a snap caster recasting an ancestral and then surprise blocking to save Jace is just silly. Jace is also great. He is such a utility knife for everything and he even bounces snapcaster for extra virtual card advantage. What a pair. Dark Cnfidant would be next for all the reasons mentioned previously.

Mana Drain.  I loved it back in High School when I first started playing Magic and the fact that I can actually play it again is a big part of why I got into Vintage again recently.

Timetwister, Library of Alexandria and Dark Confidant - in that order. Nothing beats pure card advantage and the first one can generate tremendous of it, nukes graveyards and is blue.
