1  Eternal Formats / General Strategy Discussion / Re: [Deck Idea] Serenity + Hatching Plans on: December 25, 2013, 03:58:22 pm
I guess Perilous Research would be a must if you want to build around Hatching Plans.

Perilous Research 1U Instant Draw two cards, then sacrifice a permanent.
2  Eternal Formats / General Strategy Discussion / Re: Young Pyromancer on: May 22, 2013, 09:58:10 am
I think that best strategies around this card will involve Cavern of Souls.
It has obvious synergy with Snapcaster Mage.
Regarding Shops Matchup by playing multiple Mental Missteps maindeck we can always play a 1cc spell and Misstep it to get two 1/1 Elementals, not a bad way to recycle those useless counters.

Wow!
I love this thread...
We need more contentful threads like this.
Anybody can help me on naming my little pony collection?

The first place list piloted by Juri should be one card different but I don't know which, maybe one of the bots.

Kuldotha MUD just placed first and second at Ovino 6 with more than 200 players...
6  Eternal Formats / General Strategy Discussion / Re: [Innistrad] Forbidden Alchemy on: September 24, 2011, 05:56:32 am
I seen someone use this in a bomber man shell to simply get a big hand of counters to protect his salvagers, and after making infinite mana used all 4 2 x each to mill his entire deck find what he needed, and win.  It quite a good card from the use I seen, and works very well with snapcaster mage.
That was me on MWS...
Funny how people first laugh in your face on MWS and then come here on TMD and start speculating about the cards you play.
7  Eternal Formats / General Strategy Discussion / Re: [Innistrad] - Snapcaster Mage on: September 03, 2011, 09:06:32 am
What about Snapcaster Mage with Ancestral Vision?
Does it work?

9  Eternal Formats / General Strategy Discussion / Re: Hex Parasite on: May 10, 2011, 07:03:26 am
I tried a Remora, Hex Parasite, Death's Shadow UB List the problem is that the black critter has not any evading ability.
I'm not a good deckbuilder but maybe someone could make it work.
VS MUD it's not useless at all, it's a permanent, it kills wires, smokestacks and chalices.

11  Eternal Formats / Eternal Article Discussion / Re: [Premium Article] "Mana Drain is Back!" In Control with Vintage Control on: January 24, 2011, 04:38:22 am
@Phele

I played about 20 games and all I can say about Preordain is that in this kind of deck seems strictly better than Bobs because here you don't need card advantage but to play a bomb on the 2nd or 3rd turn depending on mana moreover this deck is really controlish and play Cities of Pain so you don't wanna go for the long game hoping not to die to your own threats.

16  Eternal Formats / Workshop-Based Prison / Re: [Deck] Liquid Red Shop on: December 08, 2010, 09:09:36 am
I tested few games on MWS and I just came out with this SB:
4 Tormod's Crypt (Dredge)
4 Pithing Needle (Dredge/MUD)
4 Thorn of Amethyst (Control/Combo)
3 Solemn Simulacrum (MUD/Fish)

Any advice about it?

VS MUD: - 4 Spheres - 1Trinisphere + 3 Solemn + 2 Needle
VS Dredge: - 4 Smoke - 4 Tangle - 4 Spheres + 4 Tormod's + 4 Needle + 4 Thorn
VS TPS: - 1 Welder - 2 Karn - 1 Mox Opal + 4 Thorn
17  Eternal Formats / Creative / Re: 8 Gush GAT? on: October 12, 2010, 04:51:43 pm
Just tested few games (about 10) on MWS with some friends and I immediately realized that this deck has not any card that wins on the spot so I would cut 1 Mind Twist for 1 Tendrils of Agony.
I found out that after the first mind twist a second one or a third one is pretty useless.

Oath lost to Noble Fish?  Seriously?  Tell me more; it's kind of hard to believe, considering that it's one of Oath's best matchups.

I guess Magic is a cardgame that involve different factors:
skills,luck,deckbuilding,...moreover Oath vs Bant is not a 100/0 matchup so both decks can win and lose.
20  Eternal Formats / Creative / Re: If I were to play Lodestone Golem on: April 03, 2010, 09:14:26 am
Dear Meadbert,
I'm intensively testing your decklist and I really like how it works.
I really like how the Serum Powders fit into this deck and I can't wait to face any Ichorid player in my next tournament.
Have you ever thought about Spawning Pit to solve our problems vs Oath?( I guess not Smile )

Greetings from Italy.
21  Eternal Formats / Creative / Re: [New Card Discussion] Sadistic Sacrament on: September 18, 2009, 07:36:53 am
It could be a fake...
It seems too strong at first sight to me.
It would be good in TPS side vs Oath,Tezz and mirror match.

Vs Oath take 3 creatures, Vs Tezz take Time Vault Tezzeret and fatty, Vs TPS Tendrils and fatty.

Of course your opponent could have one winning condition in hand but it seems worthy to me.

Just check out www.tipo1.it and you will see how the Italian players are handling this metagame.
It is not "Vault/key vs anti Vault/key" at all and not even "Mana Drain vs anti Mana Drain".
It is a US metagame problem because everyone is sleeving up only decks who are piloted to win by Smennen,Shay,LSV...

25  Eternal Formats / Global Vintage Tournament Reports and Results / Re: 4th with Mono-red workshop in Mol (08 Feb) on: February 13, 2009, 05:05:07 pm
Chalice of the Void comes into play with X charge counters on it. ; Whenever a player plays a spell with converted mana cost equal to the number of charge counters on Chalice of the Void, counter that spell.

You cannot do what he told you.

Was the Ancient Grudge so important in your matches to deserve a Green splash?
What would you think about Green for Goyfs? ^^
27  Eternal Formats / Global Vintage Tournament Reports and Results / Re: [RESULTS] CVL 09 1st tournament top 8 on: January 23, 2009, 09:09:13 am
@Pau Cantero:
Hi!
I just started to test your deck and I really like it how it performs against several decks.
Why don't you play Mox Pearl in it?You feel like you don't need it or maybe you don't own it?
I just took off one basic Island for a Tropical Island in order to have a fetchable green source.
Have you tried different creatures for the Oath plan?
The new creature from Conflux should fit it perfectly otherwise I prefer Simic because of its untargettability.

Luca.

@heiner:
I really like your decklist on paper and I mean to test it.
Could you please tell me what's the 60th card?
29  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: Time Vault Combo on: December 29, 2008, 10:47:57 pm
I think that a good reason to play Echoing Truth over Hurkyl's Recall could be an active Goblin Welder or maybe an early Oath of Druids.
30  Eternal Formats / Global Vintage Tournament Reports and Results / Re: [RESULTS] Top 8 Cabrera de mar on: November 10, 2008, 11:19:29 am
David Pla's List is missing one maindeck card.
Maybe Mox Pearl?
