HERE WE GO!!!!! First I'd like to appologize for the lack of events coming out of Boston lately. With the eternal weekend in early November and the Holiday season there just aren't enough dates to go around. The vintage scene in New England is booming once again and I try my best not to conflict with other TOs. That being said I want to continue my tradition of bringing top quality events and prizes to the masses. I look forward to seeing everyone at the next event....so come one and come all. HERE GOES THE DETAILS! WHERE:Pandemonium Books and Games 4 Pleasant Street Cambridge, MA 02139 (617) 547-3721 WHEN:Sunday, January 19th, 2014 (It's a holiday weekend and parking on Sunday is free so double bonus!) The event begins at 12pm. Registration starts at 11:00. WHAT:Main Vintage Event! $30 entry fee10 Proxy free with Entry fee with the option to buy 5 additional proxies for $1 each Decklists required. PRIZES!Guaranteed! 1st Place - Beta Time Vault 2nd Place - Unlimited Mox Ruby Based on attendance:If we receive enough entrants these are options we have available for additional prizes: Mana Drains (English // Italian) Dual Lands (All Shape and Sizes!) PROXY RULES:Acceptable Proxy Methods:1. Full Card Printed on Card Stock. (ie: you blanked a normal magic card and then ran it through a printer.) 2. Clearly Hand written fully blank card. (ie: You blanked a normal magic card and then neatly hand wrote all relevant information on it.) 3. Relevant Information neatly written on a basic land with Sharpie
**Note: Relevant Information is defined as follows:1. Card Name 2. Mana Cost 3. Card type 4. Full card text or a reasonable abbreviation 5. Power/Toughness/Loyalty where applicable
Failure to provide adequate proxies will result in a warning or game loss should a judge need to be called. I hate to be so harsh on this, but a lot of players put a lot of time and effort into making their decks and expect some effort from their opponents. If you have any questions regarding your proxies please approach myself or one of the other organizers or judges and have us check them before the tournament starts. Linked to calendar. -Godder

I will be in discussion with the store about prize support but we're looking at potentially something older with a black border...so let you fancy run wild!
Black border? I can already tell this is going to be one heck of a classy, upscale event!

Just a quick update, I'm sorry I haven't gotten the details on prize support out yet on this, as I know it will likely effect whether people from farther away make it or not. I unfortunately had a lot of business travel come up for work and haven't been able to communicate with the store. I will have the guaranteed prizes up next week once I am able to get to the store.

BUMP....Prize support announced.
1st place is guaranteed a beta time vault. Pictures to come next week.
Additionally I have listed out some of the other notable cards that the store has to offer for prize support should we get enough attendance, or should you choose to not take the lovely black bordered time vault, if for instance taking all the turns isn't your style.
That being said, with this being the first event of the new year I would love to show Pandemonium that we are serious and make this event huge....so if you can make it I would love to see this thing break 50 people.
I'll even offer my couch for sleeping if people want to come in from out of town.

Alright, so clearly people weren't excited about my last post, so we've decided to sweeten the deal. Added to the guaranteed prize support. 2nd place now gets an Unlimited Mox Ruby. If that doesn't get your attention, well then I give up.

Vintage is a lovely format, it's too bad so few people can play because the supply of power is so small.
Chess really changed when they decided to stop making Queens and Bishops. I'm just glad I got my copies before the prices went crazy.

In other news, depending on how Saturday night's game goes, this might coincide poorly with the AFC Championship Game, currently scheduled for Sunday afternoon at 3 PM.

Who am I going to lose to in the "win and in" round with my Craw Wurm deck?
I know you're all scared, but who else is going to t8 this event? Remember, if it does well, the store will be much more open to having these events. The prize support is insane if you look at what is being offered. Anyone from out of the area can crash at my place also. So nobody should worry about hotel costs, just coming to play vintage!

I had a hard enough time scheduling this event around other vintage events and events at the store...so I can't really worry about prospective sporting events. That being said, there is a pub right next store for people to run over and check the score/grab a beer in between rounds. This is of course assuming you stomp the floor with your opponent quick enough.

I was really hoping to be able to be there and sling some spells, but I can't make it on time, and probably should prepare for tomorrow's exam. Good luck to everyone and thank you to pandemonium for hosting another sweet tournament even if I can't personally make it!

Highlight of my day was using Swan Song on my own Abrupt Decay during opponent's declare attackers to kill and ambush attacking Phyrexian Revoker and Mishra's Factory. I was at very low life, and I did it off three Forbidden Orchards, so next turn I had to give my opponent three more spirits off Orchards before I cast Toxic Deluge paying one life. Just playing to my outs (which in this case was down to Voltaic Key off the top I think... the Revoker had been naming Time Vault).
Had a lot of fun playing Vintage again, and I brought a friend who was playing Vintage for the first time who's looking to do it again. Thanks for a great event, congrats to all those who did well!

Thank you again to everyone who came out for this. I apologize for the delay in getting up the TO report, but I assure you it will be up this weekend. I had to travel for work this week and didn't think to bring the deck lists with me.
