If anybody is going from the Dayton area(which I doubt), I would like to catch a ride!!!
3  Eternal Formats / Western/Pacific U.S. / Re: Vintage Proxy Event - BLACK GOLD 10/16 on: September 29, 2010, 12:56:11 pm
If I can get my cards mailed to me this will be my first Colorado appearance.
4  Vintage Community Discussion / Community Introductions / Re: New member in Colorado on: September 29, 2010, 12:14:48 pm
So I just spun around the country again and landed in Denver again. Hopefully this time I won't leave as soon as I am set up.

inbox me. I dont have my cards here yet but I can proxy up and test. I dont have wheels but the good news is I don't have a job so I am available whenever.

Im sort of considering moving here somewhere in the area but possibly more west in the mountains. Might not be until after this next fall that I actually get my own roof, but I will be in and out of the area most of the year for sure.

If I am able to get my crads from Nebraska the main think I am going to need is like,

tolarian academy(i think mine is in Ohio)
U. Seas
Trops
a Tezz,
sowers of temptation

I really didn't mean I wanted to play goblins at all, just that I will play any random 10 proxy pile just to pitch in.

Hopefully this works out logistically, I might have to leave Denver before sunday.
7  Archives / Tournament Announcement Forum / Re: BLACK GOLD PROXY EVENT - April 11th Littleton, CO CASH PRIZES!!! on: April 07, 2010, 11:13:46 am
Oh snap. Glad I randomly hopped on to the drain. I am currently located in Denver.

Some of my cards are currently located in Nebraska. I dunno if I will have access to them before this weekend, but if I do I might be seen at this tournament.

So, here is to hoping you people will lend me a few cards as well, my collection has been hit these past few years on the road.

Also, me votes for more proxies in the future.

Heck, I should probably just show up either way. Someone will hand me a crappy goblin deck at least.

I suppose after reading the rules we do not in fact have a problem because this will be sold as a sandwich and its stated in the rules if it is sold as a sandwich it is one.

Still a sweet sandwich!!!!
9  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / WE HAVE A PROBLEM!!!! on: August 23, 2009, 09:02:11 am
http://consumerist.com/5342699/kfc-has-a-bacon-sandwich-that-uses-fried-chicken-as-bread

so KFC is rumored to begin selling a sandwich which uses 2 chicken breasts instead of the usual carbohydrate shells.  The problem is that this delectable delight technically breaks the boundary. If a punchable sandwich is described (in my memory) as having 2 carbohydrate shells, what is this?

This sandwich is not official yet. It is just a rumor. If it comes to fruition we may have to rethink the sandwich rules!!!

I could not have asked for a better way to end the past year of my life. Thank you to all!

Especially RitNecroWin. I could not have been more surprised and thankful.

Hopefully I will be seeing all of you more often!

It's all your fault Jerry! Wink

If I find a pocket full of money I am going to show up, or rather I will play. I'm going to try to show up either way. First magic in 9 months. Saturday is also my birthday!

OK, so if I walk to CBus from Dayton, you can put me in your greyhound luggage, then we can ride back with Haz-Mat.

I believe I was cutting the two Tezz, the early draw spells, and the crypt/needle. I never boarded out the key/vault combo.

If they don't play a lot of creatures that just means I have less things to worry about so I can concentrate on winning the game. If they are opting to play less creatures and more spells I don't feel as threatend because eventually they are going to run out of gas and not have dealt 20 damage yet. If they play more creatures than Oath is just that much better so whatever.

Lyle, didn't you hike the Appalachian trail?  I bet if you started walking now, you'd make it to Sandusky by Saturday.  From there people would be able to drive you around.

Thats very true. I can atleast hike it up to Columbus from here in about a day and a half.

IS anybody going from columbus that wouldnt mind me tagging along and not contributing anything to it?

IF that fails there is a slight chance I would leave thursday afternoon after dinner and hike up route 27 hoping for some lucky hitches and try to get there in time. I think it might be possible, but at the same time it could epic fail.
15  Archives / Tournament Announcement Forum / Re: HeroZone Tourney Nov. 29th Sandusky Ohio! on: November 26, 2008, 01:30:59 pm
If anybody is going from SW Ohio I would be happy if you would let me tag along even though I might not get to play depending on how my money this week goes. I have no gas money to offer either so be warned of that.

Single day, both days or even if I have to stay all week. It doesnt matter to me.

Meandeck Tez sideboard looks sick.

Heh.  He's managed to hide that sideboard for over a month now, somehow.
Just shows the strength of meandeck secrecy

THIS JUST IN!

Come one, come all. For Lyle H is taking a 1 week break from his southbound thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail and will be making a much needed appearance at this tournament.

And here is the pathetic half. I dont have any money because of the previously mentioned hike. I will be accepting donations for tourney entry.

Please?
18  Eternal Formats / Global Vintage Tournament Reports and Results / Re: The Richmond Thread on: May 12, 2008, 03:50:47 am
Oh, and SCG didn't even cover the Chicago event with NO type 2 going on the same day...  I'm starting to think they don't care about the event anymore.
Honestly I think it has more to do with the size of the vintage community. Everyone knows everyone and pretty much everything gets talked about on here. Covering it officially really seems like its just a waste of money on SCGs part.  Its hard enough to consistently make money on power 9 series with gas prices the way they are.  Look at how many times attendance has been like 50.

Between tourney reports and coverage, most everything gets said, or enough that wasting money on coverage isnt worth it because the profit margin is tight enough as it is.

Juan R. punched my Thurminator a few months ago. It actually helped me because I was having trouble eating the monstrosity. His smashing it turned my overly american sandwich into a 2 pounds of meat salad.

My prediction is that a Graduate student, gentleman and scholar with goregous locks playing Control Slaver will beat a womanizing Pennsylvania man with a tendency to drive too fast on the expressway in the finals.

That is absolutely hilarious.  Wish tmd had a karma system. Maybe it does, ill have to look.

In other news, Twaun Id like to get in on that saturday night action.

The only thing i did well with yesterday was my sandwich.  I got owned by mark trogdon and his decks.

I usually order two of the ¾ pound of beef burgers and finish them still a little hungry and for somehow i never realized the thurminator exists
2 of their ¾ pound beef patties topped with ham and a side of fries with a pickle spear.
I inquired to the waitress about the sandwich. She said only 1 guy ever finished one while she was working in the 5 years that she had been there.
It was delicious. My one criticism is that the sandwich had a liberal amount of pickle slices while is also had a pickle spear on the side. I feel the pickles on the sandwich would have been better as a more liberal dose of the other fine condiments. Mark Trogdon agrees. OOh or mayber just a second pickle spear would have been better.  Indeed I think so
Upon completion I asked the waitress if they served desert. They have brownie bites. HOW GOOD!! She said she would pay for them if I finished those. Yummy.
Before ordering brownies I mentioned about stopping and getting a frosty float from Wendy’s on the way home. A guy I brought with me got excited for frostys so I stopped and had a frosty float too.
I honestly could have eaten more too but my food bill for the weekend was already running a bit on the high(heh) side after the previous evenings Sammy Hagar concert(I didn’t like him but the mad Anthony express opened for him and that was quite enjoyable) The only thing to eat at the concert were 6 dollar burritos. My were they good.
Lyle 1, Thurminator 0.
I must do this more often.

Further, after the event you can probably convince the local guys to take you to a place where you can get a burger so big that you can actually feel your arteries clogging.

mmmmm thurmanator
