daze is great at stealing tempo as you really want to be able to disrupt in the early game. why? its because you are most vunerable at that stage. you might need to counter more than one spell and daze helps you a lot in that aspect.

also on a more personal note. its one thing getting countered by force of will but to get countered because you couldn't pay 1 more colorless mana? its terribly annoying Very Happy

foil is just to expensive. you need a blue card AND an island to be abel to cast it and sometimes you just dont have that many cards

my 2 cents

the predator rocks it can easily eat up to 3 artifacts. i think you should maindeck the tinker-colossus plan. and add in the factories and standstills. cut the brainstorm count to 3 and replace the remand with main deck stifle

have you drawn the colossus off the confidant before? sure hes a good back-up but wouldnt you want to have him in the side for the game 2 surprise factor?

the predator is freaking good. i played a u/g fish deck and placed him in the side for stax and the workshop aggro matchups. suffice to say that he ate at least 2-3 artifacts and has nice evasion to boot.

three mana isn't that hard because if you are playing fish (best deck to put this creature in) your aim is to make the game a bit longer than your opponent wants it to be. so if you plop this guy down on turn 3 or 4 with counter back-up its usually GG

tooth and nail only became viable during the mirrodin-kamigawa-8th type2 block was because affinity got banned. the mana  bases at that time wer very stable albeit slow because T&N used basic forests. all the decks were that slow at the time and T&N became the most consistent win condition  since you have inevitability. type1 decks have a very fragile mana base to say the least and you will encounter hate a lot.

your going to rely on drain mana to cast a T&N with entwine? good luck ever getting more than 2 mana from drain. people expect mana drain a lot and more often than not they're not going to walk into it.

you can actually reach 7 mana in the game to flashback a chainer's edict? granted you can ritual into it but wouldn't you want to ritual into something pro-active lets say a negator or disruption rather than a reactive card?

running one-ofs in a deck that's supposed to have a constant flow of men and disruption can and will muck-up your tempo.

what is your metagame by the way? im curious to know because sui black is metagame depedent deck

7  Eternal Formats / Creative / Re: Best anti oath options for U/r Fish on: May 07, 2006, 11:26:35 am
goblin bombardment is a house against oath. granted you'll be depending on your manlands for the rest of the game but its better than dying in the first few turns. why not try running chain of vapor as a one-mana bounce spell? it might just come in handy in the first turn if they go orchard-mox into oath

"oxidize- artifact heavy meta"

if that's the case i would run the null rod main board and take out the aether vial. you should also run some sort of bounce so as to cope with whatever spells you couldn't counter.

strip effects like strip mine and wasteland are a MUST.  playing fish means relying on utility cards and a whole lotta tempo advantage.

running curiosity is kinda debatable but if your meta isn't aggro-dense then it would be a house. try to put in standstill since it creates a virtual lock with a mishra's factory out.

just my 2 cents

just a suggestion...why not try running standstill?

its great when you've got mishra's in play which you will almost always have.

also, try umezawa's jitte in the sideboard. it will win you games against random aggro decks.

just my humble opinion
