I hadn't missed a single Bloom event since my first one in March, 2013. This month I had a car incident on the highway that prevented me from getting there. And unfortunately, I will be in California on January 2nd. :/ that's ok I'm sure someone else will try and stop the mighty Werebear from trying to exercise his rights again! (Unsuccessfully of course) Fix the title of this thread Mr. Griffiths 😁 TY.

Eternal Formats / Blue-Based Control / Burning Wish Delver

I opted for this list for champs for a solid 7-2. Beating Dredge, Shops twice, 4-1 vs other delver decks (losing to Ryan Eberhart), and losing a close 3 game series to a grixis control list that boarded into Oath (letting him resolve tinker in game 1 with force/blue card dack fayden in my hand turned out to be a bad choice after he got Inkwell Leviathan). Overall the deck was really strong. I won multiple "mirror" games after they had been way ahead in cards/board presence (pyromancers + tokens) due to being able to chain spells and burning wish for a grapeshot. Being able to kill multiple creatures and hit for damage while generating my own tokens was spectacular.
Dack Fayden was probably my weakest card over the day and might be better suited as a third dig.
Creatures (11) 3 Deathrite Shaman 4 Delver of Secrets 4 Young Pyromancer

Tom definitely understands the deck, but has a very different playstyle than me. Funny that you should mention the Time Walk thing, Tom, because I actually put that strategy to good use in this tournament, after our talk. We'll probably never agree on Jace, but that's ok. Hardly anyone will ever agree on jace or his relevance. Kind of like how noone will ever agree on mishras relevance

I told Vito to play 2x Thrun in his sideboard as well! Seems like a rough one for Landstill to beat.
Even though Thrun is a great narrow hate card for Landstill, I would think that (in green) goyf and seal of primordiums are probably better, since they are not as narrow and give landstill hissy fits. I'd rather just win the game. If they're not expecting it, you can probably resolve a tutor to find 2x Thrun and put them on a quick clock. That deck just isn't designed to answer a card like Thrun. And, the deck in question already plays 4x Goyf. Unless of course your playing against "Meandeck Landstill" and TWO of the cards they changed were to add tinker ---> bot so you know they have 1 out for your resolved Thrun and then you know he has the way to get to it so he TROLLS you TROLLING him. Dat Mastriano....

Looks like I have ppl jumping on the landstill banwagon haha
Well, that's what happens when you win THREE STRAIGHT BLUE BELLS. It's quite a testament to the run you've had this summer with this deck, taking it from this quirky pet deck that no one took seriously into a genuine powerhouse. Impressive. Aj used to just thrash people with this deck all the time. I still don't understand why people are so surprised that it's a major player.

Great article and an excellent add-on to the Gush book. You talked a bit about how Spell Pierce may become less effective going forward, so I was wondering what your thoughts were on perhaps using some combination of Mindbreak Trap and/or Mana Drain to go along with Flusterstorm in those 4 slots as more effective replacements in the near future?
Mindbreak Trap is a bit pricy for a Bob deck with Gush, but Mana Drain works well, if a bit slow. I like Thoughtseize better than either of those, and another card, which I can't name, better than all. Planning on playing Nix in the upcoming Waterbury tournament, are we? ' More than likely Flusterstorm. "People who think Nix is good against GAT are just wrong. It's not "hot tech." It's terrible " Is a comment he made once in '07.

This play isn't really that different from first turn DT for Vault and play it, 2nd turn vamp for Key and play it. I guess playing the Vault first turn gives them more information. But you are still likely losing to Nature's Claim and also very likely losing to a bounce spell.
I would agree that card wise its almost identical but the mindset it puts them in is completely different I think. Losing to either of those cards could very well happen but its also possible that he taps out on his turn. I'm pretty curious to see which direction you went.

Opening hand in game 2 of the finals vs Dredge. You mulligan once. He goes first and plays a Bazaar and says go. You draw and your hand is:
Fetchland Sol Ring Mana Crypt Vampiric Tutor Demonic Tutor 2 Gush
You've boarded in all your Dredge hate and all your mental missteps. You are pretty sure he has 4 Nature's Claims and 4 Chain of Vapor. What is your play?
I probably play crypt sol ring land pass. See how much stuff he goes through on his turn and whether or not he therapies me/leaves a land untapped when he ships it back. End of turn vamp for tinker depending on his plays. Draw tinker fetch a sea tap sea crypt tinker for lotus. Crack BBB tap ring and DT for will cast will nothing floating replay land and crack replay crypt and lotus. Tap land to vamp for key(or time walk) gush it into my hand. Crack lotus for UUU tap crypt and tinker crypt away for vault (or colossus) then play key/time walk . Of course I'm real risky and pretty aggressive. If you wanted to just be safe the line into first turn spellbomb and vamping for needle might slow it down enough to let you gain control for a couple turns.
