Karplusan Forest deals the damage as part of the mana ability, whereas City of Brass deals the damage as part of a triggered ability on the card being tapped. What this means is that if I am at one life and you are at three and I have a lightning bolt in hand, then City of Brass will let me win the game but Karplusan Forest won't. Well, not quite. The CoB trigger will go on the stack on top of Lightning Bolt, and thus resolve first, killing you. However, if you are at 1 and tap Tendrils with at least 1 spell played before it in the turn, then you can stack the Storm and CoB triggers not to kill you provided you announce Tendrils first and then tap CoB. If you Tap CoB first, add the mana to your pool, then anncounce Bolt, you can win in the situation, as Bolt will resolve first. You'd only lose if you activated CoB during announcement of Bolt.

So you're saying I'd be better off using color copies pasted onto normal cards to use casually and save $80 for each mox. I woulnd't do that either. Normally pasting copies onto another card dramatically changes the feel and thickness of the card. You might be looking at marked cards at that rate.

Vintage Community Discussion / Rules Q&A / Re: Uba Mask/Possessed Portal

These are not triggers. These are replacement effects.
When you draw, you get to chose which one to apply to your draw first, then the other applies if it is still applicable. So, you could apply Uba Mask first and remove the card instead of drawing. Then Possessed Portal doesn't do anything as there is no longer a draw to modify.
However, you can't chose how to apply replacement effects for your opponent's draws. They also will get to chose how the replacement effects are applied to their draw as well.

Here are the current rules for subgames. 506. Subgames
506.1. Some cards allow players to play a Magic subgame. A “subgame is the game created by the card’s effect. The “main game is the game in which the spell or ability that created the subgame was played. The main game is suspended while the subgame is in progress. It resumes when the subgame ends.
506.2. Any main-game abilities that trigger while the subgame is in progress aren’t put onto the stack until the subgame is completed.
506.3. To start the subgame, each player removes his or her library from the game face down. It becomes that player’s deck in the subgame. Abilities that trigger on cards being removed from the main game face down will trigger.
506.3a A player’s deck in the subgame may have less than the minimum number of cards. If a player’s deck contains less than seven cards, the player will lose the game as soon as it starts, even if he or she mulligans. (See rule 420, “State-Based Effects.)
506.4. The subgame proceeds like a normal game. Randomly determine which player goes first.
506.5. All objects in the main game and all cards outside the main game are considered outside the subgame (except those specifically brought into the subgame). All players not currently in the subgame are considered outside the subgame.
506.5a Some effects can bring cards into a game from outside of it. Cards brought into a subgame from a main game are considered to be removed from the main game. Abilities in the main game that trigger on objects being removed from the main game will trigger.
506.6. At the end of a subgame, each player puts all objects he or she owns that were brought into the subgame into his or her library in the main game, then shuffles that library. Cards removed from the game in the subgame are not put into the player’s main-game library. Instead they remain removed from the game in the main game. Example: If a card was brought into the subgame either from the main game or from outside the main game, that card will be put into its owner’s main-game library when the subgame ends.
506.7. If another subgame is created during a subgame, there can be multiple subgames and main games. Each main game has one subgame, and each subgame has one main game. In this case, some games will be considered both a main game and a subgame at the same time. 506.6 covers your first questions. All cards are returned to the library for the main game except for those removed from the subgame. Those remain removed from the game. If I have two players who are trying to concede at the same time, I'm probably just going to call it a draw. However, I have to question your motives here. What exactly do you hope to accomplish?

"Corn is no place for a mighty warrior!"
That really says it all, doesn't it?
You're god damned right it does! As far as comics go, PBF is pure genious. I also check on the usual gaming comics such as VGCats, PvP, and PA. All very good. As far as flash goes, Homestar Runner rules. I've also enjoyed Bonus Stage. In the weird flash cartoon category, there's David Firth's "Salad Fingers" of course. However, I very much enjoy Jesse Simpson's works at NoiseRover. Everything I hated, I promptly forgot, although I recall content. And they were pretty bad. :/

wasn't there already a fighting movie done betwen the two though?
Toho did make a Godzilla vs. King Kong movie. King Kong looked kind of crappy in that one (even taking into account the kind of effects you expect from those movies). There's also two different endings. The original Japanese version has Godzilla as the winner while the US version, by use of bad editing, has Kong the victor.

Generally, not many have to sit out, if at all. If we're light on healers or some other class, we'll drop some people. Normally people are fine to volunteer to sit out. However, we have a very dedicated core of warriors and normally have 6 to 8 each raid. I've found that stocking up on warriors tends to make things easier. They can tank, generate a decent amount of DPS, and the last 20% is normally quite smooth. It also trivializes multi-tank bosses such as Broodloord Lashslayer and the Drakes as well as providing an extra cushion for error on attrition fights like Vael.

We normally have 3 or 4 warriors on each side.
One is designated to hold the Drakonids.
The others keep the colored drakonids under control. Generally, we have at least two who rotate on grabbing aggro for the next one that will emerge. Hunter traps tend to only kill FPS.
The throne side is generally harder, since there is a really dumb fire pit thing that blocks line of site on the right side of the door. This is something you have to keep an eye on.
If they stack up too much, they're going to have trouble holding aggro. An important point is that you need to kill them as fast as possible or else you will be overwhelmed.
I tend to use my Drillborer, Essence of Pure Flame (which is actually useful from time to time even though it feels underpowered for a Rag drop), and a Thorns buff on this. The extra aggro generated by this damage shield is very useful. Also, use cleave as often as possible. If you can, designate a single tank and/or hunter to grab loose mobs that get away to your casters or through to the other side.
The phase 2 trigger appears to occur when you have killed a certain amount of Drakonids. In a situation where we know we are going to wipe, we immidiately stop killing them so as to not trigger the 2nd stage when we have no way of completing it. However, one time some dots got left on one, it diead and the trigger started. It should occur sometime after the 3rd or 4th Chromatic spawns.
The Drakonids I hate the most are the Red ones. However, if you throw some decent fire gear on most of your tanks, you'll be fine.

Note, incidentally, that the trigger for Lightning Rift doesn't require the mana payment or targets to be named until the resolution of the ability, so once it starts resolving, it's too late for anyone to take action such as gaining life or putting up regeneration shields.
While you don't pay mana until it resolves, you pick the target as soon as it triggers, just like anything else.
